It doesn't help that I'm fat as fuck, so my face shouldn't be shown off in the first place.

You have very low phage which is going to be one of the big reasons. This run should get you a bit to help, at least.

Turning off queue orders in the settings will help the automation script function better if you're running that.

More ampitheatres for morale. More temples. More tourist centres. More banks. Really just more of all the basic producers to soak up the hundred+ farmers being useless and to increase speed. Stock Exchanges are very good and will speed up your money drastically.

Swap from technocracy to either socialism or corpocracy depending on if you're doing more crafting (+ a little production) or pure production (+some money). They're pretty significant boosts.

Miners and money are your two immediate large bottlenecks.

500 or so, imo, is what you should never go under. 750 for a soft cap of 1000 if you want a better cushion. Although playing with the bonus calculator it doesn't look like AP actually buff up that much from phage either way so eh. Going from 150 phage to 250 is only 3% more prod. 150 to 500 is 7%.

For comparison 150 to 500 in non-AM universes is a 20% bonus difference. 150 to 750 is 30%, although you'll unlikely get above ~20% or so from doing 4* anyways.

I kinda wish I could've waited till it was out of Early Access to try it. I might feel better about boiling away earth time watching numbers go up if I knew there was an ending to reach, but it sounds like people mostly run out of things to do around research level 10

I'm really having fun with Orb of Creation, it's been neat to see it change over time

My favorite spell combo at present:
Attune Orb x 4, Amass Power, Arcane Inspiration. With Heavy and Dilated glyphs I'm getting like 4 billion scrolls a minute.

I'M QUESTIONING MY EXISTENCE AND THIS IDIOT JUST WANTS TO PEE OFF A WALL

I have no idea what spell combos are even good, the discord is fairly barren and there's no subreddit for an indie incremental early access game

I just put small on everything so I can afford to cast it, kind of wish I didn't have to tab between active cast bars

Games slowed down dramatically now that I have access to rituals

I'm still relatively early into Orb of Creation, with 6 resources to worry about (not counting paper/arcane scrolls/research points). Is there a way to generate wood automatically? I've gotten access to Magic, World and the Workshop so far. Just wondering which area I should be focusing on to get all of my resources generating automatically.

I’m pretty early in Orb but there is. You can get your urns to make them. You need mastery I think so get research going.

The Urn of Expansion in World will do it. There's another way later, but you need to expand your World Aspects to get to it.

Basically everything can be automated at some point.

When you get the next World Aspect, there's a point that wasn't articulated well that I discovered by mistake -

You can run the same transmutation/alchemy recipe multiple times up to your Capacity by clicking on it again from the Recipes field, and cancel one iteration of it at a time by clicking on it under the Active Alchemy field.

I think I'm just going to do a 1* or 0* to get out of Antimatter after I've gotten my 3000 antiplasmids if the mastery and antiplasmid bonsues are going to suck this hard.

I enjoyed Melvor for a little while, but it got to a point where it when hard onto rails for what worked and what doesn't and didn't feel like there was any sort of gameplay loop. I opened SS13 anyway, and it's been a lot more fun. There are fewer levels to grind, more utility to changing equipment and making choices. There's also a gameplay loop/rebirth which was a pleasant addition. Having some fun with this one and it has some great QoL functions just built in.

It's the resource made from the Alteration spell. It builds up kind of slowly, from what I've seen. I was working on upgrading other stuff before really tackling that stuff.

What was I supposed to do to make the research in Orb of Creation not completely suck rear end? Because it's draining orders of magnitude more resources per second then I make, so all my bars are just stuck at zero and I can't cast anything.

It's the 'mana' ones that especially suck. That one needs 1000x more production than I have. My arcanum one is making 28k and demanding 65.1M. The water one seems like it breaks all my alchemy stuff since it obliterates my water store which most other recipes seem to need.

Couple notes about research:
1 - you can always pause it again afterward, and you can run multiple researches concurrently
2 - If it's draining that much, you can either walk away for a while to let it build up, or it's a sign that you're punching over your weightclass for research and you should look at options to increase the generation rate of the resource in question

If a research seems unattainable either leave it overnight or research something else. You generally want to keep all the primary researches even because everything feeds into everything else.

You can pull ahead a level with some tricks like big spell combos or chain chugging mana potions, but generally an hour more fiddling and leveling everything under the sun 10 more times will bring those researches into reach.

Also the tip on pausing research is excellent, if there's nothing you want or feel like you can get, just start and pause something so you don't cap on development points.

Voltaic and Surged are great generic picks since spark costs become trivial at herbalism

Amass Power scales off its duration so duration extenders are very good for it

Otherwise it's situational.

Heavy is also really great for things that you can afford at their level cap. Like for crafting I run 4 heavy magnified smithing spells with two copies of extended dilated haste. The 25 minute cooldown drops in maybe 30s of double hasting.

Also using haste help cool down your inactive loadouts!

Orb of Creation feel different than all others incremental games in that It feel made by a professional game dev.

Is weird because have real heart and just clicking buttons is pure joy because everything is so well designed. And then crash... At this point of the game in Idle Wizard it was having geometrically more fun. Maybe I should get into creating combo with spells, probably the game should have forced me before to do so, is kind of abrupt to advance fast withouth having to create combos and then the game get uninteresting this far and deep because I am not exploiting things.
