I asked a friend who lives in Japan about tabi boots a while back, when I first learned they existed. A “do people really still wear those!?” type thing. He does live in a city but far from Tokyo, Osaka, any of the huge metropolitan centres.Australian guy in Japan posted:People wearing them normally is extremely rare. I've never seen someone just walking around the street on them. But I do see construction workers and people on building sites wearing them quite a lot.

A 6" or 8" pipe wrench is also an unexpected MVP for dealing with almost anything rounded you need to get a grip on or hold steady.

We did an ultimate frisbee competition thing one year on a beach with some incredibly coarse sand that was pretty brutal to play on (we all hated it), the next year my very competitive American mate wrote something to the effect of "bring tabi or i will NOT play with you" in his invitation to the event, lol. The more rubbery type ones were what he was talking about, protects your foot and helps with grip while still retaining some of your foot's natural flexibility... basically a cheaper and less dorky Vibram FiveFingers. They're also useful for scuttling around breakwaters and stuff if you're fishing. Not uncommon to see in the rural area I was living in, but yeah, not as streetwear, more stuff for practical work or leisure activities.

Just noticed, after having been been wearing them for over a week, that the insole of the fake Yeezy's actually says "Yezzy". The first week I could have sworn they said "Yeezy", but I guess it's one of those cases of your mind filling in the blanks for you when you don't look properly. It's funny that it's there where they draw the line, after a basically wholesale copy job, and a copy job of quite a high standard too.

After a weekend with the knockoff M365 Pro... I HAD to get suspension. Cost me $75 for local in Australia but look at my previous post for Ali sources at $4X. Before  After  Was easy to swap out, theres a million videos on Youtube about it. More news after I ride it more. Do please note, for controller modifications...mine doesn't have the round connector. But fear not, as I shall be buying a full M365 Pro controller kit to check pinouts. Why waste all that money on a controller that doesn't match and maybe won't be adaptable? Because DUAL MOTOR MODS are a thing and I can just couple the throttle and power on signals and things will work

God, that AliExpress algorithm thing where you click on something and it immediately retailors all your recs to be like, "Oh, is that what you're into now? Okay, sure, we know what you like." I mean most of the time it's offensively correct and fills me with fuckor, but I accidentally clicked on A Single Genshin Impact Listing and suddenly all of my recommendations became terrifying. It was nothing but big titty figurines and sexy pillowcases and swastikas as far as the eye could see. I had to go to one of my wishlists and click on several different washi tape and sticker listings to make the horrors stop.

I clear my cookies often and try to avoid browsing while logged in if I can to cut down on the janky recommendations, you can't avoid them for stuff you buy but I find it also helps a lot if you are trying to find the right search term for a particular item, I bought a respirator and some filters early on in the pandemic and even now I still get the odd email recommendation for really weird bondage gear.
