I've enjoyed everything Vince has put out but yeah I am ready for something more upbeat or angry or anything other than sad. Glad I saw him on tour when he was doing mostly Big Fish Theory stuff (it was right after he dropped Get the gently caress off my dick) and it was a hype, high energy show.

My favorite song off of Summertime 06 is Summertime which is also a sad, slow song so he can definitely do both successfully and even at the same time.

Now I'm reminded again of how much I love this Clams Casino Vince track. Also a sick music video.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
Thread came through again, I never listened to billy woods before and Aethiopes is amazing. Versailles is a standout, especially because I didn’t even look at the tracks before listening, so I got the total surprise of a Despot verse.

quote:

The show took place June 28, 2001 at Nassau Coliseum, with a stacked bill also featuring Destiny’s Child, OutKast, Ludacris, Eve, Nelly, and more. During his headlining set, Jay famously brought Michael Jackson out on stage with him as a flex. More importantly, he debuted “Takeover,” from his then-imminent album The Blueprint. “Takeover,” which instantly became one of the most famous diss tracks in rap history, found Jay sending shots at Nas, which inspired the insane rebuttal “Ether.” But a lot of the venom on “Takeover” is directed at Mobb Deep, a hostility that extended to Jay’s stage show. While performing the song, Jay filled the Jumbotron with photos of Mobb Deep member Prodigy at a dance class as a child, a perceived humiliation that derailed Prodigy’s career for some time.

Audio from this gig has been available online for years, but there hasn’t been video until today, when an account called HipHopVCR posted the whole thing. It’s 57 minutes long, and key excerpts are leaking out into Twitter as we speak. Behold it all below.

He also revealed he’s pushing for another Clipse album, but said it’s all down to No Malice.

“You know me, I’m pressing for an album,” he said. “I’m pressing. I mean, he’s just chilling, he’s not pressing. I do have the like, ‘Little brother, I can ask you to do things,’ thing. So, that’s how I got these. And it just made sense, you know, the Nigo thing. He was there. I was particular about it [being credited as Clipse] … I just want him to see that.”

Like 90% of the time I listen to Brockhampton I feel like I should like them more than I actually do. They’re clearly very OF inspired and they have some jams but I’m watching this and I’m just like “yeah ok”

i think they always owed RCA one more record but there was speculation if something was already done after roadrunner and recording it was their death knell, if a solo album was going to count like how they counted kevin and ameer's solo eps towards their six, or if they were just gonna say gently caress it and release puppy finally. looks like kevin was going for the middle option by starting the recording in new york by himself and realized it would be better if he could turn it into a group project, going by the video they played at the end of their set where he started playing what he had for the rest of the group

What's actually a good album to start with RTJ? I've never got around to listening beyond singles but I've listened to albums of Company Flow and Killer Mike.
