I'm pretty sure Nintendo is in the process of getting that mill churning. They want their Mario movie to be the first big leap into it but Netflix was rumored to be working on an animated Zelda movie a while back. And we've got Fallout and that Last of Us series coming - if those do even moderately okay then everyone's gonna want in on it.

The loving audacity of having chris pratt and seth rogan do voices for mario and donkey kong The mario VO is so iconic it'd be like doing a spongebob movie and having like adam driver voice spongebob, it is gonna be so jarring unless they do some dumb poo poo like "it's teenage mario!!!"
