Two weeks straight of people posting about nothing but Final Fantasy games is the proof that the Nintendo Switch has no good games and is dead.

I'm not sure why people are suggesting pooping on the couch or bed, but that's the beauty of the Switch: it caters to all types of toilets.

Ask me about finding out I'd broken the quest chain to actually hit Ozma with regular attacks after putting in the hours to do literally every other thing in the game. :dumbgun:

To beat it I had to Boost all my summons, so I could auto-regen in the time it took for the animation to play out, and could only practically damage it when Trances came up. Took nearly an hour, and every elixer in the game, but that fat orb went down. :black101:

Ok, but tomorrow, we'll all be talking about Mario Golf 64.

And then 2 days after that, back to FF talk. But until then...

Yeah that's the problem. There's an unquestionable "best" ability and you just spam that. FF9 is a nice game but I have trouble calling it great. Everything about it is better than I expected but somehow every other FF from 6-10 was more memorable.

I'm still making my way through the Switch drip of old-rear end video games everyone's mentioned but I never really knew. Somehow no one ever told me the thing that happens like mid-way through Chrono Cross and I got to be floored by it 20 years later.

gonna play Elden Ring and Assassin's Creed 10 on the New Hip Nintendo Console like a decade from now and it's gonna rule

:same: it's the best thing about the Switch. I would never have thought I could talk about these games, now that the console wars are dead we can all enjoy everything that's playable and it's lovely.

It's a shame that Fina Fantasy Origin: Stranger of Paradise isn't on the Switch but considering the optimization issues it has I can't even begin to imagine how much work it'd take to make it run, let alone be playable.

Why did Square have to use that name on two unrelated games? I just want my game about dumb boy Benjamin going on a quest because an old guy on a cloud told him to :negative:

If I remember the story right, it's because they didn't think the two game series would sell well enough without the FF name stuck to them to give it brand recognition. This was Final Fantasy Adventure (Mana 1) and Final Fantasy Legends 1-3 (SaGa), both GB games, and while successful, was a bit of a double edged sword for those coming into the games expecting it to be an FF game.

Mystic Quest has always been an intentional Final Fantasy spin-off though. It was made to be an "easier and faster RPG" for the USA to serve as a method of getting more people into the mainline FF series. It's even called Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest in Japan.

Edit: Confusingly, Final Fantasy Adventure (Mana 1) was localized as Mystic Quest in PAL regions. I have no explanation for this confusing decision.

I always found this assumption weird because yeah, the games they modeled Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy were rooted from western PC dungeon crawlers. Not to mention D&D which it all comes from being an American invention.

There's also the fact that Square shot themselves in the foot with the various circumstances leading to Final Fantasy VII being the fourth mainline game released in the west.
