This thing is great.

The US version is a 220 volt and costs $141. Unfortunately, I don't have a dryer plug in my kitchen to plug it in.

You guys know you can cook rice in the microwave too right? It's the same as doing it on the stove, just cover it in cling film and poke a hole, 10 mins on high - let it rest for 5 mins after it comes out. Usually comes out perfect if you get the amount of water right. If you're not washing the rice prior to, you're doing it wrong.

Work gave me an M1 macbook pro. It's like using desktop linux that assumes you're an idiot that can't read. It's the Aston Martin of operating systems tbh.

The trackpad is pretty sick though, I'll say that. Definitely the McLaren of mousing surfaces.

You need a range or AGA to cook more than 2 cups of rice, so they're a sound investment.

It's insane how much better Apple's trackpads still are than anyone else's. No one comes close and they're not even getting better.

Well it's literally not Linux since they have their own kernel, which is basically BSD, but it is POSIX-compatible and has all the typical GNU utilities so it more or less seems like what Linux would be if Linux distros weren't all terrible.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux,
is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell
utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day,
without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU
which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are
not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a
part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system
that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run.
The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself;
it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is
normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system
is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux"
distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

It’s a type of control system logic that maps inputs to outputs using multiple overlapping response curves.

All it does on the rice cookers is change the "wait" portion to be shorter or longer based on ambient temperature. Then plays a little tune to celebrate this incredible feat of engineering. I could write the bash script in 2minutes.
