I’m not a Danhausen fan at all. But him being a little freak who wanders around backstage and hangs out in trash cans is perfect. It’s legit a great use of him.

I really like AEW and its focus on long-term storytelling via both in-ring performance and backstage/taped interactions (Hangman saga, etc). A fan's appreciation for these developments will be much higher if they're a diehard watcher (like most of this thread). I also like the occasional ridiculous bit of nonsensical comedy. Hangman in the Stay Puft costume, Orange Cassidy hijinx, and Danhausen curses etc are excellent stand-alone bits. They're a nice change of pace in between the "serious" segments of say MJF-Punk and Mox-Yuta, and a casual fan or brand new watcher (like my dad) can fully appreciate them. I'm quite curious to see the setup for Danhausen's return to the ring. Feels like there's good potential to surprise us by having him become involved in some in-ring action before they actually book and advertise a legit match.
