I stopped posting for a while cause Jeffrey told me some idiot moron goon made a report to the fbi about a obvious joke post I made in qcs where I was like “I’m gonna freakin blow your head off with a shotgun this is a real threat!” and so left for a while. came back and still post in fyad and imp zone, mostly don’t post here anymore cause the politics forums aren’t funny and lots of the posters politics are unhinged lol. if you would like to talk I’m happy to especially if you wanna join socialist alternative or dsa or are in either and wanna discuss stuff. mostly just busy due to pandemic and having to be a irl politics man and would rather post in the funny forums cause they’re funny. but I will always appreciate the haters and the fictional scenarios they have imagined about me

Trotsky was Huey Emmerich but with kind of a debatelord edge. His most damaging qualities weren't really ideology but the way he was. A wrecker who just ends up loving and breaking everything he claims to hold dear repeatedly while whining. The ideology was never the real issue. I generally get the impression that he just could not control his desire to gently caress things up. Revisionism, reformism - whatever. That's never a big deal unless it comes along with the insatiable urge to gently caress everything up. The danger of a Trot is not their ideology but the probability that they will pull a Trotsky and just try to blow your poo poo up. All flavors of the left do this kinda thing from time to time but Trotsky was so annoying about it that it has left an ideo-memetic memory imprint on all marx-lovers to abhor the Trot. if you've ever been a marxist outside of the internet you've probably ran into a trot. they will forever find a way to find the most annoying position to take, the most annoying thing to do and you'll never be free of them. they're always there, wasting everyone's time with their trot papers. they have zero qualms undermining any movement or party they come across for their own gain and to take control of whatever popular force can be mobilised. but when they have control, they proceed to do nothing with it and somehow alienate as much people as fast as possible. that's when the next phase of the trot lifecycle begins, and like a pupa turning into a butterfly, they split into two barely distinct but equally annoying trot sects

I'm not actually serious (except about the Huey Emmerich comparison). I thought that'd come through with the ideo-memetic memory thing. I do think the weirdo Trot hate has very little to do with ideology and a lot to do with the name inducing some latent rage on behalf of everyone whom had to deal with the actual Trotsky. I'd just rebrand at this point. The history of leftist factionalism is pretty funny and also grim. Lots of trauma. Online leftist factionalism is the second farcical version of it and it is also funny. I do understand that it would get real tiring if people constantly got weird and serious about it though. But that does sound like something Trotsky would do if he posted here.

The only Trots I interacted with IRL that weren't vomit-worthy opportunists that kept ruining everything they touch were the local IMT guys, and even that is mostly a factor of them focusing on working with unions and focusing their internationalism on other marxist orgs in the Balkans and mostly ignoring the attempts of the big British branch to turn their Balkans wings into a shitshow. There's a niche potential for Trots here to be ok-ish if their roots were young communists organizing at a time of victorious reaction when the other big options discredited themselves in one way or another. If it's on a campus, or if it has serious ties to western Trot groups, stay the gently caress away.
