You should have meant Yuta because he just had a match rated higher than Bill Regal ever had, making him objectively better.

I couldn't figure out what he was talking about with the Dusty Finish. That match had a pretty clean decisive finish, then I started seeing other tweets.

The twitter brain geniuses are saying that Cole lost by count out, in a Texas Death Match, which is Last Man Standing rules. Also lol that the guy's name is "Professional Wrestling Rules"

TheIncredulousHulk posted:

Yeah idk it seems like a dumb extra rule because the pin is just a formality, and within the fiction of the match where kicking out is an act of exertion, you should just let them pin you every time and then get up once the 10 count starts instead of wasting the energy to kick out

I think both forms have advantages. The "real" Texas Deathmatch rules allow more room to breathe when you have spots where the face pulls some big move that puts both competitors down. In a TDM, if theres no pin, the ref doesnt have to start counting, so the wrestlers have more time to sell certain things.

Conversely, the non pin rules are less likely to cause scenarios where someone looks dumb (since theres no spot where you think "why didnt they go for a pin here???").

I think it makes sense for the latter to be more appropriate for faster paced wrestling.

I'm not interested in constructive criticism, believe me.
before moxley/archer there had been two texas death matches in like 20 years so anybody defending the sanctity of the rules is just being an rear end in a top hat

That's a fair point I hadn't considered. I think I'd still prefer the AEW version but it's not strictly superior like I thought

Doing a crown of barbed wire on good Friday is the coolest poo poo ever.

Also the Last Man Standing rules + Submission are way better rules anyway, much like cage escape victory loving sucks

Escape is usually dumb, but every so often you get things like Bruno beating Stan Hansen bloody and then casually walking out the door which is cool as gently caress
