The main conceit is that nearly every card you get is consumed on use, so you're trying to keep a regularly milling deck supplied with the various card chests found by making progress up (or down, in the alternate mode). You can also just steal cards from enemies later, which gets you some of the most busted stuff. Also whips work by pulling anything in a row to the front, which includes the staircase to go upwards. Just pull it to you and leave. If you're in it for randomization, you might be disappointed though, as only most enemy layouts and the contents of chests are randomized. The maps and the bosses are fixed, even the secret paths.

King of Dragon Pass is a very legit game, where you try to guide a tribe towards a prosperous future in a wild magical realm filled with gods, spirits and other potent forces. You'll have to throw conventional wisdom and morality aside, that poo poo won't work here. There's only one rule: don't gently caress with the ducks.

Given how many codes end up being taken anonymously in that PGS thread, I'm not convinced the "bots" aren't mostly just goons that either are embarrassed about vacuuming codes, or just don't care.

Everyone complaining about bots should do what I do and make every user (and myself) jump through the steamgifts hoop for free games. It also makes it slightly fairer for everyone since it's a draw rather than a free for all.

To summarize some good advice from this page: This thread (and forum) are open to the public. I'll join in recommending the Steam gifting and contests thread if you're worried about non-members claiming keys. If you're worried about members claiming keys without saying anything, you could make them do a post or PM or Steamgifts, etc.

There are a decent quantity of  less lurkers on the forums, particularly in Games. The main point of posting your codes in PGS is so that when they get yoinked by a lurker you know it's a cool goon lurker and not a filthy pubbie lurker who's just hanging around to read Dangan Ronpa let's plays
