I assumed that’s why it was taken off Spotify. Probably getting replaced with this version.

The fact that getting that beast requires a sub to their vault is a crushing decision. Is that record worth a $75 spend? My weedian brain says yes. The new house and real life says ... maybe not.

I'm least for someone to rip it to digital.

Jack white complaining about big record labels hogging vinyl presses while also selling paper thin Gildan shirts at $40 really pissed me off.

The sleep live vault release from a few years ago is really really good, hopefully I remember to cancel the sub after it ships unlike last time and I end up with a bunch of jack white reissues that I’ll never listen to again.

That makes sense. I tried to listen to it yesterday at work, but was stumped as to why it would be gone. Had to settle for The Sciences, woe is me.

Huntsmen released a cover of Crosby, Stills & Nash's 'Carry On' ahead of their upcoming EP.

https://huntsmen.bandcamp.com/track/carry-on

Really on-brand for them since their style is pretty much blending stoner doom & CSNY-style harmonies. I think I've recommended them here before.

I have the other one and it was, so, gently caress me I'm gonna do it

edit: I did it, I think this is like the 6th vinyl version of dopesmoker I'm gonna have now?

e2: also, all I did was cancel my vault sub after I got live at third man, it wasn't a big deal and I didn't get anything I didn't want. You're pretty much paying a convenience fee and production spot with every quarterly purchase on the day they tell you to pony up by.

Jack Harlon and the Dead Crows were epic last night, although it was a short warm-up show before some bigger gigs in the next few weeks. Great to go to a gig that's a <10 minute drive from my house, even if it was a tiny bar that only had about 20 people. The fuzz on the bass guitar alone was enough to fill the space, so once they were in full flight it was friggen majestic.

Nah nothing new - I don't have a perfect memory of all tracks off Hymns but nothing sounded new, and they didn't mention anything about new tracks.

Oh I think we're saying the same thing, I was just marveling at how good they sound in a live recording. I genuinely don't know how much more the sound can be improved. Really excited for both the EP (I placed a pre-order, apparently they're ready to ship as of a few days ago) and the LP.

They're also touring with Elder later this year (hitting Austin in mid-August) which makes me think the LP might be out by then.
