F3 quali was a hot mess, something to do with the lights breaking and the race director deciding that flags were ok then flags were not ok then then the flag was ok when it was the chequered flag waving that the session had timed out. There is some weak “oops our bad” statement from the race director.

Does anyone know btw why sometimes since this year the rear lights on the wings blink in an alternate pattern? Not speaking about the cool knight rider thing McLaren has going on when in the box, but sometimes the lights that indicate that recuperation is going on switch to an alternate pattern for a short time. Does that mean that recuperation plus brake is engaged?

It mostly when they are in the braking zone of a turn, and for a short moment, instead of the synchronized flashes, they flash in an alternate pattern (left, then right, then left etc.). I‘ve mostly seen it on RB, Alpha Tauri and Ferrari.
