the union of the snake hitting reset on the historically racist, anti labor, chilling effect american union system would be cool, but we don't exactly have armed miner strikes any more and a lot of people have really big boners for our current spread of robber barons. I don't think a new IWW would be able to get any kind of traction

Kshama Sawant is very smart and dedicated but is also heavily marginalized being 1 councilmember out of 9 and she isn't really the instigating force of anything that happens in the Seattle left. Instead her office is the place where lots of efforts go or get dragged into to die because the council exists to waste a shitton of time. Even if you disagree with my analysis of her effectiveness, Socialist Alternative always trying to go all king poo poo because they count literally a single elected city councilmember in the entire country as member is a pretty damning statement on the position of leftist electoralism.

The Voice of Labor posted:the union of the snake should point out that the old IWW still exists and does good work, even if they aren't as major of a labour force as their heydey. but the branch in montreal for example has done good work in establishing a couple good unions as well as taking part in the labour movement in general. plus they do alot of good work with prisoners.
