Sex appeal is totally fine and natural. When it's just sex appeal at the expense of everything else it's embarassing. Especially 25 years on from the Attitude Era when I can just gis "huge boobs embarassing sex cry" and get the poo poo without having to watch 2 hours of the best wrestling on the planet.

What makes it weird in NXT is they're so desperately pandering to the Hip, Young "Horny on Main" 20-30 year olds on paper but in practice the poo poo that happens on the show looks like it was written for 5 year olds, and at the end of the day the only people watching it are 60+ year olds...

NXT 2.0 has been nothing short of a complete failure, all because WWE is leaning too heavily into the "character work" and not enough into the ring work. And yes, WWE is a character driven company, but even then the top champions on RAW and Smackdown can at least wrestle a match that isn't offensive when Creative/Vince doesn't meddle. The Gacy/Bron stuff is absolutely painful and I hope it ends after next week, because the story is absolute dogshit terrible. And Mandy has been bulldozing over the entire NXT Women's Division despite being one of the weakest links outside of talent like Lash Legend.

I’d respect NXT 2.0 a lot more if they dropped the Nickelodeon game show aesthetic and modeled the show entirely around being a live action Tex Avery cartoon. Doll up Full Sail to look like a suave 40s nightclub. Dress the thick woman up like Red Hot Riding Hood. Get, oh I don’t know, Joe Gacy to play Screwy Squirrel. This idea has legs.

She got carried real hard in that match against Roxanne last night. imo NXT's death started with the callups/removal of Aleister and Andrade, two guys who were nuclear-hot and at their peak when they won the NXT Title. Instead of staying longer to cement their legacy, they were quickly hauled off to make way for the endless eternal Ciampa/Gargano bullshit, which then also involved the endless Undisputed Era storyline which lasted right up to the last gasp of NXT. Raquel and Kross was just one of the final knives in the lungs. Shinsuke, Samoa Joe, Aleister, and Andrade were some of the most colorful and dynamic guys in NXT, and no offense to DIY and UE but they seemed like less exciting characters who also kept circling around with endless rematches and Part 3s to their sagas. NXT 2.0 doing characters like Joe Gacy and that italian guy I can't be hosed to remember the name of just seems like a manufactured effort to reclaim some of that personality without recalling those older guys were naturally charismatic and had plenty of time to hone those personas.
