Secretly force socialism, communism and imperialism types of government onto the people of the United States of America.

i was being glib there. as i understand it, aggrotech was an astroturf genre created by dark-electro acts that wanted to come up in google searches in the early 2000s because it turns out it's hard to find much when you've named your project things like "xp8te," "antagonoize," and "suicide bomber."

This reminds me of the one time in the late 90s I asked Suicide Commando in an email some advice on what equipment to procure (at the time I had some guitars and a 4 track but no synths and Mac OS 8 didn’t seem to have freeware trackers as a means to get on the path of sampling and sequencing). He recommended the Access Virus. Kinda glad I never did go down that route.

Nothing wrong the the Virus, but maybe it shouldn't be your main synth

Blah, I was supposed to see him last week but it got COVID-cancelled a while ago.

I just love this 1979 video. It's so charming and like none of the guys know how to act in this "music video" thing before MTV:

Every time I see him, he plays cars.
Every time I see him play card, he goes from a gothy stage presence to the most excited face.
It's always amazing. Homie is a crowd pleaser and loves the game. Always see him live when you can. My 2020 show is now in like 2 weeks. Hell yes

He admitted a lot of his stage persona at the time was just being weird and awkward and not actually an act.

From what I remember he is autistic and the android thing from the first few albums was his way of dealing with stage fright.

I just looked it up and evidently, Fulber has been back with FLA since 2014. He was gone for a long stretch I feel like. The only time I've seen FLA with Fulber was the Tactical Neural Implant tour. I am very old.

I can't believe how hard it is to find concert history, especially if it didn't make it to setlist.fm. There's almost no evidence of the show I saw online, except thankfully for my own sanity I took photos. In 2011 I saw one show with FLA, Conjure One, mind.in.a.box and Cyanotic. I think Acucrack was there too. It's breaking my brain that googling these names, as well with Mod Club and Toronto is not bringing up any events.

Yeah, that is absolutely the same tour I saw, 2011. I wasn't sure if mind.in.a.box was there or not. If you have photos post them!

I've been listening to leaether strip since I was a teen and it wasn't until listening to the puppy cover albums that it dawned on me that klaus is a pretty good musician. his tdp era covers left me flat, but being able to figure out the drum/bass/sample structure and then to interpret it into leaether strip melodic style impressed me

Leaether Strip has some stuff I really like, and some stuff I don't really care about but the insane number of covers he's done have really made me a fan. I love the way he approaches music even if his original stuff doesn't appeal. I'm not going to say his covers are better than the originals, but if I'm just driving I'd honestly rather listen to some of his covers than the Skinny Puppy, Ministry, etc originals.

Assimilate, Addiction, Worlock, The Choke (close call I really love the Re-Grip mix), Illisit and Magnifishit, although the last one is more because I think the original is really bad while this one is merely kind of bad. Might be a couple others.

Considering I got into Skinny Puppy a few years after the breakup I was one of the people clamoring for a reunion, but to be honest anything they've done pre-reunion is better than anything they've done after. The only thing that really compares at all to the original incarnation is Frozen Sky off The Ghost Of Each Room.

It really feels like they lost 2 members instead of just one because they never worked with Rave again due to bad blood presumably.

I guess they never claimed otherwise, but the bonus tracks clearly have nothing to do with the album they’re on lol. Stone Tower includes what sounds like two half-finished tracks from Poem.

I like Weapon a lot but Mythmaker is one of those rare albums I just really hate. I remember being really excited to listen to it the first time and thought "what the gently caress is this???" and didn't listen to it again for years. Then tried it again and turned it off after a few tracks. Same kind of reaction I had to FLAvor of the Weak but I don't think I've ever given that one a second go.

Politikil was amazing live, but kind of forgettable on the album. I think their post-reunion stuff seems mixed where everything is clear and defined, but missing "oomph". Its sort of fussy.

Of their post-reunion albums, DaddyuWarbash is my favorite song - it seems to capture the spirit of the old band, at least for me.
