They just added a show in Philly, but it's a venue that only seats 3500. Here's hoping.
Edit: 2000 people in the queue ahead of me. I like my chances.
Edit2: I actually managed to snag one. hell yeah.
Edit3: Second show added today. I grabbed 2 to that one as well. Not sure if I'm going to try and sell my first one or just go to both shows.

I really wish there was more NINxRDJ stuff, like full collabs and not just a couple tracks on a remix album. The Aphex Twin stuff is my favorite part of FDTS.

:aaaaa: i found this thread (or its previous iteration) right before all the year zero arg stuff started happening and following everything unfold is what took me from "liked the downward spiral and the music video for only" to "i think this might be my favorite band" and i didn't realize i've even been on this website that long. i remember being so excited to get the album and grab the new website off the disc's heat sensitive ink because people were posting pics of theirs. good stuff.

also, now that i think about it, this thread is why i get the phrase "I GOT MY ARMS A FLIP FLOP FLIP FLOP FLIP" stuck in my head sometimes, so thanks for that too i guess

Hearing Trent's isolated pitch-corrected falsetto part in The Beginning of the End really took me by surprise :chanpop: I don't think I'd ever noticed that before! I listened to the song again after watching the video and I still couldn't really notice it, so it must be buried in the mix.

Singing octave "harmony" with yourself is a common studio technique, though fairly uncommon for NIN I think. I think the first time I really noticed it was Korn who did it a lot, but I think it's all over pop music too.

There is a lot of stuff buried in that album you'd only really pick out if you decided to screw around remixing stuff when Trent released all the tracks.

I remember some classical musical samples in "Meet Your Master" that were really wild. It's not that hard to hear, it just sounds way different out of context.

Also the horn section in "Capital G".

the number one reason i miss guitar hero and rock band is because people used to rip the stems used by the game and you got to hear all kinds of weird stuff buried in the mix, and the horns in capital g were a total fedex arrow for me. i assume ixi will get through all of them eventually, but if you want to jump ahead and dig through some of them yourself, i think ninremix still has all of the official AND unofficial nin stems available. they're super easy to pop into reaper or garageband so you can solo and mute stuff to your heart's content!

Year Zero is the greatest album ever, so I'm really enjoying ixi's dive into it. One of the reasons I love NIN is that there's no bottom to how deep you can dig into a song. They're so complex! There's always some layer you've never consciously heard or appreciated before. That said, I still never would have expected how many loving carnival tracks were buried deep in Year Zero songs. I'd like to see her do "This is a Trent Reznor Song" because I keep getting reminded of a lyric in that song, which was "what the hell was that?"
