Surely nearing the third hour of Malenia. I finally moved the freeze pot over into the right side pouch for easier accessibility. I finally get the timing down. This is pretty excellent :).

I used freezing pots a bunch during my first time with her, but replaying her now I'm kinda middling on it. You have to be right on the ball with it, if you're anyway slow, either mentally or because you're in a recovery animation, you're too late. I found blocking the first combo with a decent shield, then dodging forward through the second then third before rolling back twice to avoid her final flourish to be the most comfortable for me. It turns the time you'd already be needing to throw the pot into mental prep time for the sequence too. Much more comfortable for me but your mileage may vary.

18 STR
18 DEX
10 FTH
10 ARC

I want a frenzy based character, what are good stats to aim for? What incantations and stuff are cool for a character that will meet the Three Fingers and set the world under a frenzy flame.?

With…22 faith I think you can go get frenzied burst from the madness village in the north of Liurnia, near the grand lift. Decent fire damage at good range and enemies won’t dodge it. Use it to initiate fights in the world. If you’ve been to Weeping then you can also pick up flame of frenzy from the madness village there, which is like a charged fire shotgun. Good for groups and especially bosses.

It is incredibly difficult to nail the timing.

I gave in and summoned mt for a couple tries just then, still didn't come close. I know she is there for the taking, I'm just trying to space out the sessions a little bit

Boy, people who drop messages right on top of sites of grace that render you unable to activate them are kind of the loving worst, aren't they? Is there a way to deal with this nonsense?

There's potentially two different things happening there (one is a bug) if it's just on top of it you can push right or left on the cross-pad to select different interact options. But, what's probably happening is that there's a bug on a few graces where the actual interact point is like 6 feet away so do some spirals around the grace graphic and you will hopefully find it.

I was literally about to post about that! Unfortunately, the only way I know to get rid of it is to save and quit the game, then go back into the game. The message will still be there, but as long as you reload on top of the grace you will be able to activate it.

Spoiler-free: the big tree has a root system

Spoiler:
You give it to Fia in Deeproot Depths after fighting her champions and she gives a speech. Reload the area and she'll be asleep and you can enter her dreams and fight a dragon. Then you get her clothes and her rune for the Fia ending.

It's more when you're frantically running and trigger the message before hand.

The worst, though, is:

Me: *trying to change weapon*

Elden Ring: *text box frantically swapping between "view bloodstain" and "view message"*

At least in boss arenas the messages are cut off until they're dead. I'd lose my mind trying to cycle sword and seal with 8 trillion bloodstains in Malenia's loser fort for defeat knowers.

If you're actually standing in front of the object, its prompt is prioritized over any messages. However if you're sprinting through an area and mashing the button so you jump onto the object ASAP, you might enter range of the message before you're in range of the object, and end up hitting that prompt first.

Finding out that one of Radahn's meteors could hit me and the AOE would knock Torrent out from under me, leaving me laid out with 15% health was fun. Those meteors are a mystery in that sometimes he'd summon them and let loose and other times he'd pull them out just for the aesthetic.

I don't really pvp, not in this or other games for that matter. But i do do Varre's quest in Elden Ring because, hey free teleport to Camp Blood

anyway, doing those today i learned that the compass has a marker pointing to the host!

But when i found him he was sitting by the Prawn Guy with another invader. Then a blue defender showed up too and we all just hung out there for a bit

Silly interactions like that may or not be common in Souls' pvp, i have no idea, but it was new to me and i really got a kick out of it

Started the Varre questline in NG++

Did an invasion

Had fun with it and did the dab pose until the host ran up to me and I punched him

Proceed to run around unarmed as this dude whiffs every attack

He finally catches me as I go for another punch

I died with like 2 million+ runes

Does he get all of those? I hope so.

BIG VINCE COMIN FOR YOU
I think the runes you get on a PVP kill are based on the level of the player that is killed - I know someone has a calculator somewhere that you can use to figure out level based on how many runes they dropped.

I killed a phantom on my level 35 invader once and got like 200k runes which was pretty cool.
