When are you supposed to say "and I?". As in "my friend and I went to work". But everyone says it's supposed to be "my friend and ME ". When is the I used? Also any easy way to remember if the phrase is "He did not die in vein / vane / vain" so I don't have to Google it every time someone dies? If the phrase "It is." is a complete sentence, and "It's" is short for "It is", then why isn't "It's." a complete sentence?

Treat the subjects as separate i.e. “My friend went to work” and “I went to work.” Those are both correct so combining them into “My friend and I went to work.” is the correct option. “Me went to work” isn’t a proper sentence. Using “my friend and me” would work when you and you friend are passive subjects, i.e. “This happened to my friend” and “This happened to me” would be combined into “This happened to my friend and me.” You wouldn’t say “this happened to I.”

Do I use "is" or "are" if it's being followed by a list that includes plural and non-plural nouns? Example: The things on my list are apples, an orange, and a pineapple vs The things on my list is apples, an orange, and a pineapple

Diorama posted:"Manchester United play very badly" or "Manchester United plays very badly"? it can be either. you can be referring to the players collectively, in which case it's plural and the correct one is "play" or you can be referring to the team, in which case it's singular and the correct one is "plays" Wilkins Micawber posted:Is it ok if I just say diarrhea instead of poop or crap or poo poo from now on?
