drat how do you do that with reserved seating

sneaking into movies is the best. from like 1994-1998 I never paid to see a movie, me and my friends busted one of the emergency exits on our closest theater so we could pop it open with a pen/screwdriver/etc and they never fixed it

I've always assumed this is why reserved seating was adopted by the industry

if someone is in my seat and doesn’t move I’m complaining 100% of the time even if the theater is otherwise empty

In small towns it didn't matter, but NYC was a nightmare with general seating. I'd have to arrive an hour early just to lock seats in, and if my friends hadn't arrived by showtime people would not care.

It shouldn't matter if your friend arrives 20 minutes late, but I got really loving sick of the people who calling it fair game and demanding to sit in the seats I was guarding

we used to "have" to do little speeches in front of the audience before the show started. like to say turn off your phones. in reality they only happened if a manager was known to be in the audience or else standing at the door. boy that sucked. otherwise theatre cleaning was pretty chill compared to concessions

yeah it became a beloved pillar of pop culture for a reason. those reasons stopped being clear somewhere around the prequel era, but the first ones still exist in their original form and are still worth watching (despite lucas's best efforts)

not the analytical engine

just remembered the time I hailed a cab & opened the door, stopped to say goodbye to my friend, and got sniped by a middle aged lady jumping in the seat & closing the door

and the time I was shoved out of a subway car for making it a little more crowded... twice. I would've tried a third time if the doors hadn't closed. at least I got a clear "gently caress off, rear end in a top hat" to his face in front of the crowded car

I believe any NYC story that doesn't have a positive or cool outcome, those are STDH.txt
