I got a letter from the government the other day
opened it, read it
it said they was bitches

I was going to say they could just sell it as a general colouring book and not have to segment their market, but I'm sure "sonic the hedgehog adult art" gets better seo

Wow, yeah, what the gently caress. And what is this "just Sonic posing" poo poo when the other cover is just Sonic standing there in a way that is way less exciting and cool looking.

I guess Chaos is also standing there? Whoooo.

Man, the Adventure-era 2D art was so stylish and cool, for lack of a better word. The poses became so much more mundane as it all moved to CG art... And heck, the even 2D stuff became much more neutered after Heroes.

Lmao why would they call it that? When I hear the phrase “adult coloring book” my mind immediately assumes we’re dealing with pornography.

I’ve heard that term before but is there actually any real difference between an “adult” coloring book and a children’s one?

Coloring books are a form of adult therapy that saw a growth in popularity in the 2010s. They reportedly bring people a sense of their childhood,[19] and help with developing fine motor skills and vision, reducing anxiety and creating focus, and relieving stress and anxiety in a manner similar to meditation.[20] Concentrating on coloring may facilitate the replacement of negative thoughts and images with pleasant ones.[21] Coloring books can be used in daily activities.[22] The books are also a way to get away from technology, which some may regard as beneficial to people's health.[23] They can also be used by people who aren't as comfortable with other extremely expressive forms of art.[20]

While coloring books for adults were popular in the early 1960s, those were satirical works rather than the therapeutic works that define the adult coloring book form today.[24] The first commercially successful adult coloring books were published in 2012 and 2013,[20] and began increasing in popularity in 2015. In April of that year, Johanna Basford brought out two coloring books titled Secret Garden and Enchanted Forest, which became the top sellers at Amazon.[25]

It's kind of cool, but it also makes me want to punch Sonic in the teeth, which I guess makes it the Platonic ideal of Sonic art, because it sums up who Sonic really is (someone who needs a thump on the loving kisser)

They did indeed (it starts off pretty episodic but that changes near the end of the first season, also even the more fillerish early episodes wind up being important in some way later on). It’s a good show overall, give it a fair chance

It was created by Matt Braly, who goes by Rad Rappy online. He used to post on the GHZ (a Sonic forum I was a regular at) so I’m not surprised there’s some similarities.

They're not emulated, they're the Christian Whitehead ports, they're running on a version of the engine used for Sonic Mania. All of them except S3&K are known quantities to some extent, CD was released on PC & consoles ages ago, 1&2 were released on phones and nowhere else frustratingly. 3&K is new, a prototype was made years ago but SEGA passed on it for some reason, likely the theorised licensing issues with the music.

These are updated with new features, like Mania's drop dash.

Since I play on a PS4, this might be worth getting as long as they manage to keep Sonic 3's soundtrack. I've heard the prototype songs, and they are not great.
