Honestly the LNP could save everyone a lot of time and trouble and just transfer me $50k from a zoomer's super account now. I won't complain.

Wasn't there already some super for first home thing going on since last election? Like putting more into your super to get decent interest and then you could pull 30k or something tax free?

Yeah, but it doesn't achieve much and take up was minuscule.

And from all perspectives it is. Superannuation supercharges the stock market and investment sectors, but it also reduces the governments need to supply pensions. Letting people take money out of their super to help afford a housing deposit is the worst idea I think I've ever heard a politician say.

A LOT more political ads in Lego Masters tonight. About 3-2 in favor of Labor, and all new ones too. All the LNP ones are the same ones from 5 weeks ago. One of the Labor ones was Albo himself about building for the future. In a Lego Masters time slot.

Yeah it didn't do anything about actually helping people get a deposit, literally only helps if you already have cash lying around and will save you some tax by letting it sit in Super for a while. One of those policies that doesn't actually achieve anything but has a name they can put on a press release and make it seem like they are doing something.

Checking the Greens HTV guide for the Victorian Senate and they preference Victorian Socialists second but Socialist Alliance not at all. I know nothing about either except their names, are the latter tankies or something?
|
![]() |

victorian socialists is socialist alternative, who are trotskyists. socialist alliance were also part of victorian socialists alongside salt for a bit but they split and are not trotskyists. both have their issues but not really to do with ideology, more just tactics & internal problems. victorian socialists are a little more active in electoral politics in victoria (they've won a council seat before) so that's likely why the greens have them there. greens have socialist alliance on their senate htv in other states. the actually bad total crank socialist party you should completely avoid is socialist equality party, who got deregistered due to not having enough members under the new rules but are still running independents in the senate in every state. they're also trotskyists but are extremely anti-identity politics and anti-metoo movement and will write long screeds defending every celebrity accused of sexual wrongdoing, among other issues.

If someones made their voting intentions clear why not count their vote up until it easily can be, or let them chose to extinguish their vote if after the first one or two candidates they feel they don't want their vote going to any of them/all equally poo poo.
