There was a picture I saw a long time ago of what looked like a giant piece of heavy machinery or construction equipment with what appeared to be a massive circular saw at the end of a long arm poised like it would be used to tear into the landscape. The way the picture was shot made it look way more massive than it actually was and the "saw" was, if I remember correctly, a wheel with a bunch of shovels or buckets on it (think the blade on a bulldozer or an excavator's shovel).

I remember that it was somewhat commonly shared online and then later in clickbaity articles about the real story behind popular pictures from the internet. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

No, it was using a script to just copy what was posted here. That script also added advertisements into the body of whatever text was copied over.

I have memories of a commercial for Shazam (the music identifying app) or something like it. A radio station hosts a name that tune contest with metal / hardcore music, most of the commercial shows the DJ. After the song plays for a few seconds a lady calls in and id's the song and wins a mug. The shot then cuts to an elderly lady in her kitchen and she has 12 or so of these same mugs that she's won before. The host then says something along the lines of "Our top metal fan Pearl (or whatever) has won again! She knows her metal".

I did some very light searching but I kept getting links to actual name that tune quizzes or articles how Shazam is usable in TV ads. I think it was a commercial and not a bit from a show.

It was titled Welcome to the Cum Zone from Tumblr user ReidAyanami. The original soundcloud is long gone, but you can find various remixes and versions on youtube. (There were three in total, I think, not sure what the other two were.)

A UK public safety film that I saw in primary school in 1993-1998 in Norwich, if anyone local might recall it

It was a building site one, but not Building Sites Bite, I've watched that one and it's just not the same. I remember it being more modern than 70s also. The bits I remember of it were in first-person perspective of a kid wandering across a building site, like balancing across a wooden beam which fell, and digging in a heap of sand that collapsed on them. There must have been third-person bits too, because I remember the kid being dark-haired, gender non-specific. Does anyone remember this? I'm not expecting to find it but even someone else recalling it would be great.

A website called Nowhere or Nothing or similar. A stick man black silhouette of a person on a white background types at a computer (with typing sound effects). You can look through pages of melancholy thoughts and little vignettes, clicking words to move to a new page. I think you click on a moth to go back to the start. It all feels really lonely. From the 2010s probably.

The starting page with the silhouette, it was a scroll wheel of phrases accompanied by typing sounds. I so want to know if this place still exists. It feels so recent, like I saw it yesterday, but I've been looking for it for years.

I don't know if anyone else is interested in this but I found the Intel Groove Machine I had posted about way earlier in the thread. I emailed one of the people who worked on it named Michael Henry and got him to send me a copy. His site is https://isorhythm.com. His correspondence was funny - he kept calling Windows "Windoze"

I couldn't figure out how to video record the display so I resorted to videoing my monitor like a goon.
