the narrator asserts after trying to mind control an elephant with LSD and it dying, west performed an autopsy while tripping balls himself where he sloshed around inside one of the body cavities talking about how he was going to control entire herds of elephants

and hell, i believe it

Hmmm I remember reading LSD: My Problem Child and wondering why Hoffmann was able to list the lethal dose for an elephant.

if you could recommend three things to someone to break their brain what would it be? transmissions from Jonestown, CHAOS, and Aberration in the Heartland of the real? all featuring the same people behind the scenes drove me insane

The first dozen or so episodes of death is just around the corner are pretty good. he takes a different kind of angle by talking about thomas pynchon for a couple hours then argues he worked in intelligence with a cover of working for boeing before he became a writer then talks about how his books kind of lay out the basic outline of the military-intelligence-old money cartel but obliquely like he's trying to maintain plausible deniability so he won't get got

It depends where they are on the stage of things. You might need to start light with Rogue Nation or something dry about MKULTRA or similar if they’re not already up to speed on the admitted level of conspiracy.

normal kind of lib people also tend to think very highly of the BBC and instinctually respect a posh English voice, which helps a bit.

it's all from the self-titled album though, so i assume it's because BBC has the licensing

I echo this post exactly. It's so weird and funny that he is that into Burial but hey whatever man! It's good poo poo. It probably has something to do with him coming of age in the age of Thatcher->early illegal rave scene. Probably feels like Burial best represents the hollow aftertaste of the 90s or something.

based on his other works and selection of Russian music I think he just has good taste in music. he also seems really into dance.

Curtis gets a bad rap because of his use of style and ingrained position with a media industrial complex (the BBC). But this is what gives him such legitimacy.

His newer works have better soundtracks but his earlier works have better interviews. The Power of Nightmares and The Living Dead are 2 great docs that can lead to Epstein-esque threads.

Curtis' blog is no longer updated but he used to published mega-posts (from 2009-2016) that are nearly the same as his media work. For this you must provide your own soundtrack.

im still a fan of killing hope or the jakarta method to kick in the door. until you understand the scope and scale of the mass-murders the CIA openly admits to, your brain sort of recoils away from stuff like heartland of the real because “that can’t be true they would never do that”. you need to shatter the illusion that those forces are the ‘good guys’ before you can get into the weeds with any effectiveness imo

Sometimes it takes certain events to make people fully internalize things they may know. Like when Corbyn lost in December 2019 I just knew that MI-5 would never allow a Socialist to win the election but I held out hope for Bernie naively. But than Centrist Voltron happened, than I read The Jarkarta Method, followed by Killing Hope and I finally just accepted that Liberal Democracy is a waste, even though intellectually I knew that I thought we could eek out some reform through it and 2020 disabused me of that

the knowledge is the crack, but sometimes it takes a real shock to bring the ping

it’s a hell of a thing spending your whole life thinking voting matters then abruptly realizing the levers you’ve been fighting to control aren’t actually hooked up to anything. meaningful change isn’t within the allowable scope of democracy, the billionaire pedophiles will never allow the plebs to simply vote them into the poorhouse
