Enhanced tracking protection isn't an extension, and its always on even in private browsing. To turn it off you have to click on the shield to the left of the URL bar.

Low-effort way to do this which works in Chrome-likes and probably Firefox, though, my firefox is slightly out of date - 1) Press ctrl-shift-I to open the dev tools 2) select the 'Console' tab 3) if you're in firefox, it will probably give you a SCAM WARNING and ask you to type 'allow paste' into the console first, so do that if so 4) paste this into the console (after the >): document.getElementsByClassName('threadbar')[0].innerHTML = '<img src="https://forums.somethingawful.com/attachment.php?attachmentid='+Math.floor(Math.random()*1000000)+'" />' and press enter 5) the bar at the top of the page where the thread search goes will be replaced by a random attachment 6) press up-enter in the dev console to repeat
