The three roles of APCs:
Transports.
Supply trucks.
Distractions.

I seem to be many years behind most people on this, but I've been working my way through Avatar: the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, just started series 3 of Korra.

And well, seems like the entire internet is already aware of how good Avatar is so there's not a whole lot to say :v:. But yeah, imaginative worldbuilding, great characters, phenomenal character arcs, you know the drill. It's clearly a childrens' show but it's a really well done one so I'm happy with that. Has a few weird spots, but as one of the show's messages goes, people make mistakes and nobody's perfect, and I guess that includes the writers. And the stuff they get right they get really right, so... yeah.

Korra hasn't felt quite up to the same standard but it's still enjoyable - the nods back to the Avatar characters and their legacy are fun, there are still plenty of great characters around the place, and the expansion of the worldbuilding is good to see. And I'm told S3 is when it really hits its stride, so looking forward to seeing how things play out!

A) I really like this show.

and

B) I didn't realize that there was a second season.

It's not quite on the level of Joe Pera Talks With You....but another solid live action show from Adult Swim. Also....while I was never a fan of Tim and Eric (except for "Goes To The Mayor")....Beef House is really funny.

Korra Season 4 Episode 2 is my favorite episode of anything in the Avatar Extended Universe. Season 3 is also a banger and probably the best season overall. Korra has a lot of good stuff, it's just mired in some consistency issues especially since Nickolodeon kept loving them over.

I started watching workaholics by accident.
It’s already very old, never heard of it back in the day, and I think I’m watching it as a form of escapism, because times are so loving poo poo right now. It’s very immature comedy (I noticed literally every episode has a dick joke), but I have to admit I like it.

Yeah, Korra feels all-around more ambitious than Last Airbender, but can't always pull it off. When it does land it's great and arguably better, but it's got relatively more parts that drag or just feel hokey. I'd also say Korra is a more interesting character than Aang, but her supporting cast isn't quite as entertaining as Last Airbender's.

Pretty much every Strike Back season is ten episodes long, divided into five two-parters. It's kinda like watching five action films in a single season.

Sounds like you might have a version that edited a two part story together into a single episode.

The first season had Richard Armitage and is very different from what came later. That one has three 1,5 hour storylines, then it becomes a completely new series with Scott and Stobebridge after a tiny scene to connect season one and two.

I watched Reacher and laughed the whole time. It feels perfectly engineered as wish fulfillment relevance porn for angry white boomer men, which fully tracks from my guesswork about the dad fiction ambitions of the source text.

Jack Reacher is a quiet genius in the body of a handsome giant, hyper-competent and cool under pressure despite a constant simmering rage that leads him to pound antagonists into the dirt 2-3 times an episode. His violence is always 100% justified though, because of the obvious low moral character of all the dog abusers, harassers of women, and (often non-white) criminals who for some reason instantly pick a fight with him so he doesn't have to be the one to instigate it.

The bougie, fancy people in town are intimidated by him, except for the pro-violence cool girls in his life who are very down to bone. Intellectuals condescend to him, until he clowns them with his superior detective knowledge. He's also not vain and wears whatever he can find, but has a perfect physique and eats whatever he wants. And boy, is he cool; although most of the Black or brown characters on the show are in a criminal cartel or prison gang, this old Black barber he befriends lauds him for his insider Blues tastes.

Of course, whenever Reacher isn't on screen, characters need to ask, "where's Reacher?" Total trash, 10/10.

There is yes, and I'm not even saying those vague spoilers have a place in this thread, but like, there's a point at which you have to accept that if you're reading a general TV show thread, you're going to run into posts like those from time to time. If "wow something really big happened in tonight's ep, that was some crazy poo poo" bothers you (and to be fair I can see why it might, if you're just about to watch that ep) then you might be better off just accepting that people are going to make those posts and either avoid threads like this until you're caught up or accept that you might not get a completely perfect virgin unspoiled watch of an ep now and again. If you haven't caught up on this show and are that concerned about spoilers then you know... you could catch up instead of looking for more recs for new shows to watch. Those recs will still be here later.

Ducktales (2017). It is actually crazy how much they followed the Barks-Rosa-universe that is, what I understood, mostly unheard in US and mostly EU stuff. Even as an adult, this has been a wild ride into my youth, and even the stuff they smuggled in to the show "Yuppikay jay, Mr. Falcon" as an example, tells that this wasn't a purely for kids. It was for us all who grew up with Barks/Rosa comics.
