this war has been quite fun for me.
i have done some highly impactful decisions,
-when i made that base between woodbind and overland that lasted over 5 collie assaults.
-supplied 150's for that successful operation to takedown nugget.
-supplied 150's to cut down logi access to gale.
-destroyed several bb's with mortar alone.
- and finally pirated several ships in a apc at fingers.

It owns that this game is large scale, but single soldier can heavily affect the outcomes of battles.

We actually had Baths+Bootnat cut off for about an hour a few days back when we had gone around to the SW all the way to Coaldrifter stead. That's the only way we're gonna take Baths IMO. There's not much in the way of collie defenses there atm, but people (me included) love to get distracted by pointless bridge fight meat grinders.

I feel unless you are part of the dedicated bombard artillery crew for it yeah, The Baths isn't worth fighting at at all until it falls.

Not the biggest fan of fighting in swamp hell of Drowned Veil, dark textures, ankle deep swamp water that slows you AND working with the Bulkwark cuts off sections of land. Those that get there first be utter bastards setting up bunker base segments.

In short, Drowned Vale is a hex of contrasts and they are all terrible.

I saw, and it's great. I guess that's the one good thing about the bridge fighting - it distracts the other side too from doing more important things, like defending their concrete fortresses. Now baths is starving again, hopefully until it falls to us in short order and we can just pour absurd amounts of logi in by ironship until we win.

I had one of the funniest moments playing last night.

There is a bush in Baths that has a stone wall through it. This gives you cover and concealment. I was hiding in the bush with an ATR as a Spatha slowly crept up at night. After it got well within my range, I took a bunch of pot shots at it. It panick'd, and fired at my bush... hitting the stone wall i was behind. Since the guy couldn't see me, he could not fire over the stone wall, causing me to take no damage. I kept firing at it, so it fired again, once again hitting the wall. At this point, I stopped firing so he'd think he got me. They pulled back maybe 4 meters to get out and repair, and I immediately started shooting again. To which they panicked _again_, trying to get the tank out of there and getting stuck on a trench husk. Eventually they got free (i nearly disabled it).

They repaired up and then proceeded to creep toward my bush 4 more times, with the exact same thing happening. They'd fire at the bush, hit the wall, and I would keep firing. Eventually they fired a flare at me and I had to run, but the tank wasn't there at the time. So I ran around to the other side of the road to another piece of cover and waited... and the tank slowly crept up to the now empty bush, firing at it the whole time. I put another 6-ish shots into the tank and he panicked and ran again.

Eventually they got a bunch of infantry to throw like 6 bomastones at the bush and clear me out (by that point, I had gathered a collection of us hiding in this magic cover-granting bush). It was extremely funny the whole time.

Worth noting that most of this awesomeness was also brought to you by Goon backline logi.

Lol. Even if you didn't disable the tank, that's a whole tank with 2-3 players tied up over a single soldier on foot and not shooting at our own tanks.

I do think some of the best infantry moments is fighting in the more important urban sprawl areas; for example tonight I captured and turned their own Maxim style HMG against the enemy and killed at least twelve Colonials with a bayonet, getting more of my gear from the ground.

Wipe off the blood good to go!

My day of combat involved 5-6 hours in a single gunboat with Dark Off, dropping absurd amounts of 120mm shells on the defenders of Therizo. Later that evening, I was running logistics through the baths and saved the town hall from a satchel rush, killing two colonials with my rifle and two with my fists.

So look, we've got a solid framework or logistics goons building behind the scenes and thanks to Roy and pokchu we've got the repuation of being solid and dependable.

But we sort of lack goons that want to eat fire on the front, whether raiding, vehicle patrols or fighting on the front.

For those that haven't touched the game in months, the recent balancing patch has fixed a lot of the balance issues with most of the established weaponry and 1.0 is approaching soon, please consider coming back and giving the game a shot if you bounced off it earlier this year/last year now.

If you do not mind pubbie and goon front line herding and can be very patient we'd be happy to have you as we're seeking a few goons eager to do combat op/work with other groups in the Warden structure.

A sale is coming and chill new blood is much appreciated.

I spend most of my time shooting rather than doing logi or building, but I'm still fairly new. I think I have a pretty decent handle on the combat mechanics by now, though, and I still remember all the things that tripped me up while trying to figure it out. For those of you watching at home the nukes have been flying in the last 36 hours and oddly enough all of them have been Warden launched ones. The towns of Therizo (in Terminus) and Silk Farms (in Shackled Chasm) were total wipeouts (TH + other important buildings wiped) while a near miss in The Blemish (in The Heartlands) missed the TH but took out 3/4th of the industry buildings present in the town. The Warden push continues today with the town of Hermit's Rest (in Umbral Wildwood) being the latest to fall.

CORRECTION TO ABOVE: Someone just nuked the rest of The Blemish as of the time on this edit, :aslol:

We did it, guys!
My achievements include:

-poo poo-tons of Logi, especially to goon-built bases
-Spending a night solo oppressing Collie bases in Iron Junction/The Overland with mammons/satchels. It kept the handful of collie defenders very busy rebuilding, instead of improving their fortifications.
-Truckjacked a collie Partisan who machinegunned my truck. I hopped hexes, came back, and bayoneted him while he walked with 5 crates in his pockets. Used his turbo truck to finish my logi run.
-Someone asked me to put a partisan uniform and and go stick a listening kit near a watchtower in Homesick, but I didn't find any watchtowers. Found an unlocked collie Spatha instead, and drove it back to our lines to dominate the front line for the rest of the night.
-Brought up some Chieftain tanks to support the final pushes, and used two of them to crack the concrete fortifications protecting The Vanguard, until an enemy LTD came to menace us and the other tanks that showed up.

I hope the Collies put up a stiffer fight next war as it really felt like we had the momentum this whole war. Even when we lost Maiden's Veil everyone viewed it as just temporary set back.

e. I'm going to have to switch over to Colonial for a couple wars at some point to get a good grasp on all their equipment.

According to goon sources several Colonial clans are going blue for the coming war so this might be a short one, though the coming patch has quite few tweaks and buffs enough that might scupper some of those plans.

We had a very strong momentum on zero hour day 1, we seized most of Saltbrook in record time.

Bad Man Larry might even go blue and while it is tempting we leave the poor bastard alone.

i expect the opposite as collies are receiving fairly major buff. And wardens are getting minor nerf. (giving collies better pve with rpg vehicles and more durable ISG, while removing hv40's pve which frankly wasnt seeing a lot of use)

For war91 retrospective collies tried something new with endless front by focusing on marban hollow instead and frankly i think that almost worked out marban almost fell.
it was way closer war in early to mid game, then collies collapsed in tempest and that triggered the rapid downfall.

Funny enough, we were going to head to Marban once we locked down Endless but once again Old Jack Tar for some reason was neglected and we have to retake the drat thing multiple times while turning Iron Junction into Iron Harvest.

Personally I think the Colonials will phone in the next one, their morale is essentially at the low point ours was in October last year.

The big clans need to break away from SIGIL and set up some serious business focused channels and get out the weird pve crutch mindset.

Both sides need more players in their worst time zones too.

BML was originally a Warden player but everyone got sick of his poo poo and kicked him out of the entire faction.

The balance changes seem like a placebo. What wins wars is logi and morale. Specific weapon ranges and damage numbers count when you're doing one on one pvp but what matters overall is being able to keep on replacing whatever gets blown up until you grind the other side down.
