Danger: Carolina Reaper! Had it on some tacos tonight and it the flavor was nice but it really wasn't that hot. Both the original Yucateco and XXXX Yucateco habanero sauces I have on hand are way more painful. It was on clearance thought so I figured I'd give it a whirl.

Quiet Feet posted:Danger: Carolina Reaper! You might like the Bravado hot sauces, they have a Blueberry Ghost, a Carolina Reaper black garlic, a chile arbol/Moruga scorpion sauce, etc. All are stank hot but also taste good. Also, the Last Dab Apollo is surprisingly good for a sauce made from: pepper mash, pepper powder, pepper extract, and vinegar (all the Apollo pepper, surprisingly good in flavor but the heat climbs for - e - v - e - r. No bullshit I put a dime-sized dollop on one wing and I was straight ANGRY at how it lasted and kept increasing.) A friend makes his own wing sauce with like a cayenne base plus butter plus some of that Apollo plus some extra stuff, makes for a good combination without melting your face.

And the Pineapple Habanero from Bravado was a perennial favorite among my coworkers, even the non-sauce folks, it got to the point where I was buying a couple bottles for the breakroom every 6 weeks or so. People were putting it on everything.

The black garlic reaper one is so so good. I’m not a huge hot sauce guy, but I’ll use a bottle up in a couple of weeks no problem.

Since last week... 1980 Hondo HD-770AB, a set-neck, double-cutaway Les Paul copy, made in Korea, with american made pickups, and and ash body and top. So far, superduper awesome DOD Grunge FX69(nice)B. I had the original version, it was terrible, but instead of low and high that had butt and head controls. This version isn't any better, but it was cheaper and I won't lose any money selling it.

I don't know where to ask for a product recommendation, so I'll ask here: Does anyone have any anti-mosquito devices they can recommend? I get chewed up in my backyard and I don't know if any of those various devices designed to keep skeeters away actually do poo poo.

I bought a Termacell (kinda like that, sorry for the Canadian link!) and it works decently if you turn it on 10-15 minutes before you go out. The charges run out surprisingly quick though.

Since I'm a cheap-rear end I gifted my sister & my brother-in-law my old Anovo sous vide, just so I could get this: Vesta Precision Imersa Sous Vide Black (SS-SV82-BK). Big difference from this & my old Anovo is this has wi-fi, so I can control what I'm cooking from work.

Why did you need to control sous vide over wifi though? It's pretty hands off.

You can put food in an ice bath then turn it on at whatever time so it’s all cooked when you get home.

Got a new cutting board from a local shop that makes them among other things. Couple inches thick and solid as hell. Even got an engraving on the side for free. Fellow said he supplies the Ritz Carlton chain with boards along with Disney which doesn’t particularly impress me but it is interesting.

It's alright if you're staying in one place, but if you move too fast or there's a breeze, it blows away the repellent. What we did this spring was to buy a shitton of mint, citronella, and lavender. No mosquitoes and my yard smells ridiculously fresh.

Citronella doesn’t do dick for bugs but it does smell nice so it’s a land of contrasts. Permethrin is supposed to be pretty good, last for weeks/washes, and you can treat your gear with it but it seems dire if you get it on you skin while it’s wet so ymmv.

We had one, they rely on bait capsules of some sort, but for whatever reason the bait for the native species by me was discontinued and the old supply we had didn't seem to work any longer. Possible something else was wrong with the setup, but I went through 2 or 3 propane tanks and an equal amount of bait sticks and I didn't seem to catch any meaningful amount of mosquitos in the little catcher compartment.

The local mosquitos will have evolved, insects tend to do that - take head lice/nits, they have to keep changing the formula because the wee bastards keep getting immune so fast that they can make it back round a school again before the new formula is out,

Vinyl is awesome... if art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time and vinyl is the bridge between the two. If you haven't seen how spatter and colored records are made, it's a trip: https://youtu.be/aOo76IAQ8Jw For purchases content, bought some shipwrecked treasure! The ship itself was supposed to be bringing hard currency to backstop the easily counterfeited paper money in the Spanish Louisiana territory, but instead sank to the bottom of the ocean, which eventually led Spain to give the territory back to France who then also ran out of money and sold it to the US
