Fact Check: It wasn't done by Nazi supporters, but merely people who would eventually come to support Nazis a few months later, by accident. 4/5 Pinocchios

Yep... regardless of how it came to be, they're definitely failing to read the room on that one... Keep that piece of cloth in the cupboard for a couple of years maybe Finland... then we might have a talk with you about it's heritage.

Everyone I know who was in the air force is a massive idiot. (All two of them.) The obvious thing is the insignia should've been changed in 1945 at the latest, along with all the Finnish SS men being all put in jail. Oh wait guess what else wasn't done, either.. It's actually rather odd that the Soviet Union didn't order either one, as they definitely had it in the Comission's power. Instead they got Ryhmy & Romppainen novels pulled from libraries and 1st hand book stores, and put a couple of generals in jail.

Since this thread has derailed into talking about plucky little Finland, how about our very own violent, anti-communist, rabid far-right movement? They changed their name into the "fatherland movement" (IKL), because that's what fascists tend to do. Now, what is curious about all of this, after all, everyone in Europe had fascist parties in the 30's, is that our future president became infamous for trying to shut down our little fascist party. Pictured here, being an authoritarian fellow, oppressing fascists. Making jokes with Nikita! Now, to be fair to history, UKK was a cop. There's no excusing that.

Chin Strap posted:So this woman just got insanely lucky, and everyone is going to try to treat this as another "lawsuits gone awry" thing like the judges actually ruled on the merits of the case? I think the language of her policy was overly broad or oddly worded so that it read like it covered diseases caught while in a car. So, when GEICO didn’t take the arbitration seriously the arbitrator said, “yep that seems like it should be covered by the plain reading of the text anyone disagree?” and since no one did then they got ruled against. GEICO appealed to the courts and the judge was like, “it’s your arbitration clause, tough.” If GEICO had participated in good faith in the process it never would have happened.
