Pretty much. Every once in a while, there's a place that pops up that you can go to and re-do previous tricks you've learned to fleece people of money, but that's the whole rhythm.

The Cycle: Frontier will be out tomorrow, from the remains of YAGER who made SpecOps: TheLine (with I think no one left there who worked on SpecOps) and moved on to PvP Dreadnaught (which I think is still alive with a few players even)

its PvPvE with a kinda interesting core concept and tense atmosphere. When I played the beta a while ago it showed potential but not sure what has been done since, but maybe worth a look now. It's also F2P with a high potential on montarization abuse but I havent followed how thats supposed to look like in the end

It's not really fast but it's very precise - you might have to provide inputs really fast not because the ball is moving super quickly, but because you want to land on a real small platform after a long jump and its angled diagonally and you want to maintain at least some of your momentum for the next jump. There's a lot of managing momentum and there's enough air control that it's more like flying or gliding than bouncing. So there are fast moments, but no, the ball is not usually moving very quickly.

Here's an individual level speedrun, which I think is pretty illustrative if you want to see how fast the game ends up being at its limits.

That's where I tapped out in the demo version. The best I could do was try to remove something I could remember (like all the 5s or something) but then I couldn't do that fast enough. I'm sure I could get it eventually but since it was just the demo I quit after failing it a couple times. I still plan on picking up the game and tackling it at some point, but yeah, that part felt way harder than the other tricks.

It's also way harder than the 10 minute demo. The second miniboss (the bull rush demon) is one hell of a bullet sponge and I find him impossible to dodge unless I have the movement speed perk. Also it used to be way easier to become unkillable with the heal from fire damage perk. Haven't finished a run in something like 10 attempts. Maybe I'm just bad, but it's still fun as hell. Post strats if you got 'em.

It took me SO long to figure out what I was doing wrong with the dupes. Except it was actually really obvious: there are dupes in the deck, so say if you just remove all 4s (for example), you may end up removing two 4 of clubs instead of each of the black suits, or two diamonds instead of the correct red ones when you try to remove them from the stacked deck. You gotta make sure the suits are correct, can't just grab the first 4s you see since you might pick up two of the same suit, leaving a dupe and one type of card completely removed.

I always chose either all the red/black suits of two different numbers, or simply all of the same number. It takes longer but trying to remember random cards and THEN find them is nearly impossible. Then obviously don't up the bet on that mission.

That's definitely one of the toughest though. There are many easier tricks like the one where you pick up cards in a certain order so that they'll be dealt strategically, any trick involving injogging and fake shuffling, the ones where you get a glimpse then signal either the highest exact card or the highest suit and how many, bending high and low cards and distributing them to the correct players, etc. Love the variety they snuck in that game, and I'm only about a third or slightly more through it.

It's an EXTREMELY creative game though, I respect the hell out of it and personally I'm glad they didn't make it easy. It feels rewarding when you nail a trick or several tricks and fleece your target(s)

Mostly Positive reviews (32 to 6). Another autoshooter. Some complaints about balance, and also (strangely given the graphics), performance. Yeah it's a twin stick shooter, you fire manually and pick up xp like in vampire survivors and get perks like in nova drift, if you've played that:https://store.steampowered.com/app/858210/Nova_Drift/ (if not, it's very good).

It's pretty much nova drift but vampire survivors instead of asteroids.

You'll pick a character with a special talent and a weapon out of 6? each, and then in the middle of the game their special ability gets souped up and you get a devil perk with a downside and there's a pretty large build variety but you can't always get what you want because on level up there's some randomness to it.

There's also a separate hint toggle that will show you the cards you need to remove in the upper corner. So they have options for people like me with the bad brains.

It took me a few plays to notice it, but there's a "Runes" menu with actual metaprogression. You can choose one of three each of an offensive and defensive rune you can swap between, so even though you can max everything out you can't bring everything at once to any given playthrough.

This explains a few things, like why there wasn’t a reset option for runes like Glass Cannon.

Anyway, while it’s reductive to call it such since it hs its own flavor to it, 20 Minutes is effectively Lovecraft Survivors, and even if it doesn’t have the kind of insane longevity that VS has had so far it’s also only 3 bucks so similarly easy to get your money’s worth.

My first (and second) wins were with SMGs (first Diamond, then Shana). Go for an elemental damage build and as much bounce/bonus projectile/glare as you can stack on the side. You don’t need to worry about the damage your bullets are doing when everything on the screen is burning, frozen, shattering, exploding, and you have a constant stream of lightning bolts and fireballs coming as you shoot your guns. There’s even a pentagram book you can pick that triples the clip size, and when you get 96 shots per reload there is a lot of fun bullshit happening.

Bonus points doing this on Shana if you can get her Halo accessory, but make sure you cover the basics of your elemental kit before you sink a few level ups into a delayed powerup.

It just came out so hard to say how it gets in the later game, but there's 3 difficulty levels where the 'normal' one has permadeath turned off, and you additionally have easy mode that boosts your damage and health.

I'm only 2 missions in, but it's pretty good so far. The unit progression kinda reminds me of Disciples, with the positioning and alternate upgrade trees and all.

This game is very good, I like it a lot. It is an RPGMaker (VX Ace) game which is pretty surprising but explains the UI jank. Definitely worth it if you like Fire Emblem or Ogre Battle or even last Remnant.

So far (5 or 6 missions in) I wouldn't call it "Hard" (on normal difficulty) but there have been a few missions (especially early on) where I had to reload my pre-mission save and mess around with unit compositions before I got a good thing going, which is the right kind of challenge IMO. Lots of things aren't immediately obvious, like that you can stick a limited number of light troops (e.g. a healer) in a cavalry formation and it still counts as a cavalry formation for calculating its move speed. But at least so far it has been fun to test things out and explore those interactions on my own without the game telling me about them.

It has a lot of neat concepts like one of your attack types being "force surrender" where you can try to force demoralized troops to surrender which immediately takes them off the battlefield, gives you their exp/drops, and then gives you bonus rewards at the end of the stage. It's usually easier (and safer) to just kill them, but little touches like that do a lot to break up tactical battles that can get monotonous in other games.

Another (I think) Switch port. Short, about 2-3 hour game with 3 positive reviews only.

Perhaps you have not been to the *Playground*.
The *Playground* is for Taalo and for Orz, but *Campers* can go.
It more fun than several.
You can go there for too much fun.

Just wanted to warn people away from this one. It's really bad and has no challenge. I burned through it in 15 minutes without really trying. Do not buy it.
