Oh it's a mach 1 that explains a lot

A teacher in high school had (has! still friends with her kid) has an all-original 1969 mach 1 either her, or her dad bought new, and daily drove/drives, in green, it is glorious

Yeah in that illustration (which is almost certainly traced from a photo) from the B pillar back looks like a 69 camaro to me. But I see it now. Thanks.

Huh, it was my impression the surface had to be paint prep clean. Chemical Guys makes a spray called Wipe Out that you're supposed to use before a ceramic spray treatment to remove old wax or other surface treatments prior to applying ceramic. If you want the cheap economic way, allegedly dish soap does the same work. The ceramic spray may do what you want, but I don't think it will last as long without the prep as a drying aid.

I just did the same thing to the WRX I just posted.

yeah. the inozetek wrap I put on it was a complete PITA to maintain and I just got exasperated and took it off. The paint isnt perfect by a long shot but it's good enough for now. I might re-wrap it later in something with a pearl/semi-matte finish that won't look like poo poo after three weeks.

I kinda wanna do white lettering on mine but unsure if it'll suit. Might photoshop it and see if I like it. They are VERY low profile so might look like whitewalls lol

Man, I thought the general consensus for white/colored lettered tires was that they were kinda tacky, but drat if you didn't all come out and make me reconsider. I have been wanting to find a better solution than using either stickers or paint, maybe I'll keep searching. I've got a good feeling about epoxy based paint, though you'd need to be VERY careful when applying that. It won't just scrape off like the oil based stuff.

One more photo before I go back to the stockers.

I don't think it'd look good on all cars (mine), but I can certainly appreciate the times it does look good.

I just did the same thing to the WRX I just posted.

The product is TEC582 and I read it can be used as a drying aid as well. I know the proper way to apply it would have been to strip what is already on the car, clay bar, maybe polish before application, but I didn't have the time to do all that. I actually used it on top of a pretty freshly applied (1 month ago?) layer of Adam's buttery wax. I didn't feel like it was amazing as a drying aid (used one spray per panel, give or take). It took a decent amount of elbow grease to buff it with lots of water spots wanting to hang around. I was hoping it would work like the wax-as-you-dry spray on stuff. The end result seems pretty decent although I haven't had time to inspect it in direct light.

The 9-3 and 9-5 of that era came in three different trims, Arc, Linear and Vector (and Aero, which is like an M or AMG model). Mine was the top trim with electrically adjustable half leather sport seats, painted bumpers and sills, cruise control, park distance control and so on. The pilot package was a bunch of driver ("pilot") convenience and comfort items.

It's both exciting and terrifying to drive, thanks to still being completely unfamiliar with it. The suspension actually feels softer than the SLK55 I had, which is nice since the roads are pretty garbage around here. I probably shouldn't drive it too much since I don't have the plates yet and it doesn't even have a temp one.

WHAT IF the two best colors are black and white?

I don't know what its called, but there is a creamy white color with iridescent metal flake in it which is one of my favorite colors. I have a shifter knob coming in the mail that is probably the prettiest color I have ever seen, I'll post it when I get it, but its black paint with a rainbow metal flake in it. I'd unironically do my whole car in it.

I like white on cars that have nice shapes since it helps accentuate them with the shadows. Also it makes the car stand out a bit less which to be honest is nice.

Plus, he'd left the gate open and there was evil everywhere.

My white Boxster looked great due to the curves. However Chris Evans, the UK knob end not Captain America, paints all his Ferraris white because of some weird cars as art thing so that is a big negative to me.

However that Ferrari is the one I would own.

I haven't gone WOT yet, but it does have valves in the exhaust that open around 3k. Even at 4-5k rpm it's starting to howl and very loud, with the top up. I believe there are a couple of options for it, but like I said, it's more than loud enough for me.
