that comic is unrepentant in its horniness. The only memories I have it is one good joke about giant size monsters needing a traffic cop with them at all times to keep others from getting crushed and the second is the creepy tengu trying to feed her eggs to someone

oh for sure, almost every single one has a prominent full body shot of a given sexy monstergirl. but it's also actually good as a comic, and I genuinely like some of the designs, like the dragon judge who has libra scales on her horns.

I remember people were posting it in the CCCC thread. Wasn't there one that involved a teacher dating a student that had gotten a lot of backlash outside of the thread resulting in that strip taken down and the creators mentioning something about "cultural differences" or was that a different horny monster girl comic

Is it the "Oni's Love Rules" comic? Because it looks like that's still up when you google "Modern Mogal" and "teacher dating student" soooo..... yuck.

But yeah sorry to the guy who had the bad luck of recommending a comic we all spent awhile looking at in the other thread and unearthing it's hidden secrets. It was funny when it was just dragons with huge tits.

As compensation, has this thread heard of a little comic called... Turn You?

Doesn't know the impossible.

it was imo very funny at the time watching the translators put out multiple notes of "the artist has assured us this is isn't going to be a Tale of Genji story" followed by the above "it was a Tale of Genji story and we want no part in it." honestly, I can't blame them too much for not catching on, it's a real weird break from the rest of the series (I assume because of the guest writer mentioned in that announcement).

rest of the comics still pretty good

My apologies, I completely forgot about that one short they did. I do not remember their "apology" though, they can gently caress off with that.

if I may make up for that, then I will recommend the previously mentioned Helck

it's a completed digital manga about a mysterious He-Man-looking dude who shows up in the Demon Realm, shortly after the Demon King is killed, and joins a tournament to fight to become the new Demon King. It was the ADTRW darling for a while, and it really goes some wild places. The art can be ROUGH early on(especially Helck with his hilarious proportions and face) but dramatically improves as the series progresses. Vamirio, Helck, Piwi, Azudora, and others are memorable and entertaining characters, and the story ends strong.

there is also now a "sequel", Helck Volundio, which follows a mercenary and a mysterious girl who open a tavern in the middle of a wasteland, in a world dominated by people wielding insanely powerful weapons called Surreal Swords.

yeah it's a drat shame, the rest of the comic is genuinely pretty funny, I have no idea why they thought that short story was a good idea, doubly triply so for their response to people calling them out. the Dickwolves Incident of its own, sorta. I don't think they've ever done anything like that outside of it, so maybe it scared them out of doing anything of the sort again.

I feel like a good 50% of the comics in that one are just "Hey, this chick has huge boobs!"

Edit: the monster girl comic, although maybe the he-man one has huge boobs too, I don't know.

Captain Invictus, the fact that you're constantly trying to shoehorn anime into conversations without warning or prompting reflects poorly on your judgment, to say nothing of your willingness or lack thereof to spare a brief second of consideration for the people already present in the spaces you're inserting yourself into.

But you already knew that, because people have told you this before.

I read this a couple years back and I thought it lost a lot of what made it interesting once the hero-side backstory started showing up.

We should only discuss comics with no anime influences, like Sleepless Domain and Kill Six Billion Demons

Nuns with Guns

It's fine.
Don't worry about it.
I don't have an issue with manga or suggesting manga scans here. There's the the prior point that tons of Western webcomics creators are already drawing influence from that and it invites incredibly stupid debates like those old Should Avatar: The Last Airbender be permitted to be posted outside the Anime GIFs thread????!!! style PYF arguments. Also lots of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese webcomics exist, and while some have "official" translations, others get translated unofficially on mangadex and other sites. I've seen that a lot with webtoon comics.

I'm not really interested in Big Tittied Monster Girl Comics For Horning Up though. Like Alfie is funny and well drawn but it's also a porny sex comic. It's been brought up here a couple of times in the context of people mentioning porny sex comics, but it's not like it's something that compels you to discuss all or even some of the updates because you're invested in the narrative or a bigger mystery or the character moments. TJ and Amal is a comic that has romance and sex in it but it's also a sweet and messy drama that's enjoyable to read as a story in and of itself.

And now I'm glad I went to look up TJ and Amal again because I see now that EKW started a new webcomic in April: Shot and Chaser so that's really cool and exciting.

I mean if you actually want my opinions on Helck I think it's one half funny gag manga about an overpowered hero in the vein of one punch man and one half by the numbers fantasy adventure and unfortunately those two halves are clearly delineated by the point in the story where it starts to take itself seriously and loses its impish creative spark.

Also I'm pretty sure half of us already do post in ADTRW and I know where to go if I want to get opinions about the upcoming 2022 summer anime crop, but this is the place I lurk when I want to bask in petty sniping over years old arguments about gunnerkrigg court.

speaking of k6bd from a making comics standpoint, for the last couple weeks he was using his buffer to post comics one week early on the patreon. which, weirdly, made discussing the comic difficult imo? people who are patrons can't really talk about the new comic they just read with people who aren't, and when that one hits the public, you've already got the context of the next page.

im not mad about it or anything, it was a really cool thing to do. and not really a problem now that the buffer is gone and pages are just gonna go up a day early, but it definitely made me think of how difficult trying to think of patreon content is lmao
