There's something super attractive to me about shadows being cast across snow. I've never been able to get anything cool with it though so I'm glad you did.

The light is perfect too!

I'd crop out that structure on the left, it's really distracting from the composition imo

Let's give that a try...

Yep, agreed :sun:

Thanks! It was basically a perfect winter morning for photography, and I had a great time.

Here's another one from the same trip:

That Sigma 10-20mm doesn't like shooting directly into the sun :v:

The first and last are really doing it for me there. The pronounced grain in the first is giving it a very otherworldly vibe, reminiscent of Annihilation.

Thanks! I had my 6x7 loaded with Kodak Gold to take a picture of it too but the lighting wasn't ideal so I figured I'd take another the next day, but they cleared it in the morning :(

One of the first shots with a new (to me) D750 and Tamron 24-70 F2.8 G2 (at 24mm/F9)

Critique would be appreciated. I like the color palate and the retro vibe, but I also feel the composition is a bit crammed.

it does feel cramped. the lighting is flat - could you go back there when there's sun coming in from the window? it would enhance the retro vibe you are going for by saturating the colours of the door/chair/dot. take it from further back.

i would personally CAF the "idealab" out of the sign to make the space more ambiguous.

Thanks. You are right about the light and I can/will go back. Unfortunately, the window points north and I live in the northern hemisphere, so there is little chance of sunlight from the window, but I've never looked at the place at night when the lights are on, so I will revisit.
