I've got two Crimson Rozellas in my yard mimicking Butcher Bird calls. I've never heard anything like it. I can only assume they've noticed that when I hear a butcher bird I tend to go out and feed them and then generally end up feeding whatever else is out there.

Only way they were ever gonna sell their break-even qty of tickets to that festival was by causing people to buy too many accidentally.

People have started getting confirmations, but the excess transactions haven't been cancelled, let alone refunded.

Good Things and Oztix statements can be found on their FB pages.

They knew about the problem by 10:30 but still kept selling tickets.

Some people have managed to reach them on this number - 07 35036806.

They're very cute yes but it's weird behaviour, right? Afaik rozellas aren't mimics. They have a pretty ride range of calls but I've never caught one making another bird's call before.

I've seen caged Rosella's learn to talk so there's probably some inate mimicry skills
that was pretty convincing

Do you often sing or whistle just for fun?
Gorgeous birbs <3 they're so bright!

Rosellas definitely can do mimicry, my cousin raised one that had been rejected by the parents and had been found on the ground. It grew into a monstrously big dude that would both loudly demand whatever you were eating then say "wanna bit?" while flicking food all over the place.

I've never seen one do it in the wild though, that's super cool!

I never knew they could mimic. I've heard them do some weird calls but I always just assumed it was a native call that they didn't use often.

There were definitely no butcher birds in my yard at that time and the currawongs you can hear are a few houses away. I was standing about 2-3 meters from them. The calls were definitely coming from one of both of the rosellas.

The skate ramp was built in the mid 90's and expanded in the early 2000's from memory. I remember as a kid launching myself down leichhardt st multiple times on a bike and it never got any less sketchy.

I stalled my driving instructors car just after barton st cause I didn't change down quickly enough and she was training me on that stretch because it could have been part of my driving test. Camp street really isn't that bad although steep Neale street is somehow worse because it is both steep and windy and the cars coming up don't stick to their side of the road. Katoomba falls road can also suck butt especially if you are on something pedal powered.

Edit: I used to do a training ride that was Katoomba falls road past the skyway and up cliff drive out to shell corner then back down cascade and neale repeated till I got tired and headed back home
