The Praetors getting really chunky and being on 40mms is more weird than anything.

So I've decided to go with Thousand Sons, and picked up a Kratos (well, okay, I picked that up before deciding, but I like big tanks), a Rhino to give me a solid 4 when I use my 3 AS Rhinos, Ahriman, and a box of Scarab Occult "Sekhmet" Terminators. They were sold out of specialist weapons at my FLGS.

A) In general, what should I focus on now for making a decent 1k Sons army?
B) Roughly how many Sekhmet Terminators are a good number?

I'd really like to start building my army, or even just start planning it, but I haven't heard anything regarding my preorder.

I got the order confirmation immediately after I placed the order, but that's it. Even a courtesy email of "sorry, we're backed up but we haven't forgotten about you" would be nice

I received the shipment confirmation for my box yesterday. I placed my order the morning the preorders went up if that helps judge. It’s definitely not ideal. Next time something like this comes around I will try to preorder with my flgs.

Since I have never played heresy I’ll definitely take some time to pour over the rulebook before picking a legion, but its pretty much down to Sons of Horus and Alpha based on how cool the legion specific units look to me.

I have stuff that's collecting dust that I could start building/painting, but my anxiety is wracking me over building them "wrong" since I don't have the rules to read yet.

I have 30 mk3 marines, 5 cataphractii, and 5 Tartaros and I'm going with Salamanders. If anyone has guidance.

I’d build one 20-man and one 10-man tactical squad with your basic marines. This edition really calls for vexillae and comms too.

This will be my first edition with 30k, so I don't have prior knowledge to pull from.

I'm thinking of making my mk3 marines fill my Veteran/specialist roles, since I'll have 40 mk6 that can be the 'new guys'.

Honestly if I could find someone to trade 1:1 mk6 for mk3 I'd probably jump on it. I've never been a fan of beakies.

Quick life hack, you'll have one or two ScarabSekhmet helmets left over from every squad, they're pretty good for sergeants/characters.

Combine them with some less-Tzeentchy Rubric Marine bodies for extra effect!

So I discovered a neat and easily way to get a Salamander green without having any green. Now I’m sure this is pretty basic color wheel and color mixing stuff, but I’m still learning that. So I had an extra space marine that I primed in army painters ultramarine blue spray, I then decided to do a paint test with Iyanden Yellow and look at this. The yellow is only from goofing around with Yriel Yellow. Otherwise great way to use up any blue primer and still get green. :)

Oh, thank God, GW announced how the plastic contemptor kit is going to work, now the content creators can stop speculating about whether the aquila visible on the front of the contemptor in some of the ads means the stand-alone kit going to be a completely different sculpt or not.
