they may seem to be incompetent when it comes to legislating or governing, but when it comes to opposition from within, they're very very competent at banding together and stopping it

Here something we can do: The Facialimpediment Guide To Getting A Vasectomy (or: When Snip Goes Sideways)

- You've got ~1% chance of having 3 month+ pain. Most are fine after a few days, some a month, and some like me got turbofucked. It's post-vasectomy pain syndrome and it's unpreventable, but most kinda gradually get better. I got worse. It's fun being 1% of the 1%!

- Get a vasectomy by a doctor that also can do reversals, called vasovastomies. Those doctors tend to get the job done better, faster, and have more overall knowledge. Don't settle for your PCP's recommendation/referral alone (my mistake) and don't get it done by a rando low-level doctor. Get a dick doc that also does reversals.

- No-needle, no-scalpel procedures are the best. The needle bit isn't really that important, but the no-scalpel part is.

- If poo poo goes sideways (hi), there are a bunch of follow-up procedures that are hyper-obscure, which is why you need the reversal doc. My original urologist felt around and couldn't find anything wrong. My current urologist knew his poo poo (and balls), figuring out it was indeed a nerve pain issue, rather than a "thing wrong". One Bilateral Microsurgical Denervation of the Spermatic Cord later (plus five weeks), I'm super-close to normal for the first time in 9 months. Unfortunately, I can kinda still feel my balls so I can't participate in ballkicking porn.

They will have no issues taking away the rights of the wrong kind of men (ones who believe in contraception). She said that after stating gay marriage is what is going next and they're working their way down the line. Guess we gotta just vote SUPER HARD to prevent. Other tip is get it done if when you’ve already had major medical treatment and gone over your out-of-pocket. I may have got cancer and had to pay for it but I got my vasectomy for free (this is actually what occurred)!

I already had two amazing kids and no desire for more. Best decision ever.

Granted with only one testicle left, perhaps it was just easier for me. lol

Contraception for women is on the chopping block. Note that evangelicals are always shrieking about hormonal birth control but never have anything to say about condoms.

But in the fine print of their measure, those Republicans revealed that their ambition wasn’t only to target a familiar abortion foe. They were going after specific forms of birth control as well, notably, emergency contraceptives, often sold under the brand name Plan B, and intrauterine devices, known as IUDs. GOP lawmakers tried to stop Missouri’s Medicaid agency from paying for those forms of contraception.

quote:

This month, Idaho state Rep. Brent Crane, Republican chair of the powerful House State Affairs Committee, said he would hold hearings on legislation banning emergency contraceptives and possibly IUDs as well.

A Louisiana House committee earlier this month passed a bill saying that “human personhood” begins at the point of fertilization, an interpretation that critics say could potentially be used to outlaw Plan B drugs, IUDs and perhaps other forms of birth control.

The reality is that there is still very much a political solution in play - it just involves the half of American society that sits on the sidelines to actually get involved in electoral politics. It's going to be weird watching these issues continue to polarize and escalate as a broad segment of Americans simply refuse to participate.

But yeah, we are definitely moving backwards, and with the Supreme Court doing it's thing, it's only going to go faster.

It makes more sense when you consider their driving motivation is tearing down reproductive agency for women. The whole saving babies is after the fact justification because saying "women need to be kept in their place" loses votes these days, which is why they won't come after condoms or vasectomies.

Fun fact: if my procedure didn't work, that would've been next! And orchiectomies don't always fix Post-Vasectomy Pain Syndrome. Basically, your nerves get so hosed your body now has painful ~~``GHOST BALLS``~~ Snip's better and an even BIGGER snip (mine) can be done. If I knock someone up, the swimmers had to get past two sinkholes and a previous confirmed sterile sample.

quote:

Seriously though, good luck with that man. My brother had scar tissue or something complicate his, I think he said his ball(s) swelled up like a tennisball

I didn't have any crazy complication, I just didn't really get better! Then realized this could be nerve damage (when pain is burning, that's a sign) and I needed someone that was more aggressive. Googled, found a hospital building with an expert that does the specialized surgery, waffled for a few months after injection tests, then had my fight-or-flight triggered due to so much pain. Requested the surgery, was told 2 months, went to Lewis Black, got called two weeks later due to a cancellation.

I actually jogged around yesterday afternoon for the first time in ~3 months and it's been nice to be in jeans without feeling like I'm on fire!
