Man Lysithea as a swordsperson is hilarious. Give her Thunderbrand and Shadowblade alone and she basically can use skills nonstop 24/7 because there is no way you're running out of durability before everything on the map is dead and Thunderbrand's reduced cooldown effect means it recharges almost instantly.

Honest to god Golden Wildfire to Chapter 8 is just absolutely amazing. This game rules and it's done an absolutely amazing job of building on Three Houses. Anyway, Leonie being a goddess of death again makes me incredibly happy. Like game tells me "Don't fight Byleth" and then my girl just loving curbstomps her.

I think the most general thing that makes me like this game is the fact that it feels like they had a checklist of every complaint people had about Three Houses and just addressed all of them one after the other. Great game, best musou I’ve played in a long time.

I'm also so glad it doesn't run like AOC. I loved AOC for the story but man it ran like poo poo. the chapter 10 mission is currently pissing me off because the AI is loving braindead I want to recruit byleth but that involves, obviously, not killing her. Which means Claude needs to get his happy rear end to the loving retreat point before she notices him. Which means he needs to stop getting distracted by the loving wall, and go through the goddamn open gate you idiot  game, stop putting important characters on the green team, its like feeding them lead-based paint

I really wish you could unlock classes with seals directly from the training menu instead of making a note of which units have maxed their training, backing out into the acquire class menu, buying the class, and then backing into the training menu again You’d think with all the secret QoL buttons this game has, that’d be one of them, but if it is, I can’t find it

I'll trade any number of kill a certain number of people missions for the loving fog missions - particularly the rescue ones. Especially given the game doesn't actually give you any indication on the map where the objectives are. Supposed to save someone under attack? Hope you get lucky and guess the right spot while ignoring all enemies - because stopping to fight anyone likely results in the objective dying while you flail around blindly - as guessing too wrong and you likely fail the mission. Hope you like restarting!

I just assigned a character I wasn't playing as to guard him while I focused on a different part of the map, only switching back when I needed to clear his path. That might help

Welp that's Azure Gleam down, and unfortunately it kinda collapsed in on itself in the end there. All the poo poo in the chapter where Arval betrays you and Epicurius or whatever the gently caress his name was is loving dire, it's pretty clear they wanted Shez to have a voice in their head like Byleth did but had no idea how to actually tie it into the story in a satisfying way. Also lmao that they lobotomized Edelgard but then also wanted her to have a chat with Dimitri, so she's magically back to normal in the evil dimension for five minutes with like one throwaway line of dialogue justifying it. Also it's two games now and the writers still can't decide scene to scene if Edelgard and Dimitri remember their time together as children or not. Everything they did with Edelgard in this route was abysmal to the point that it felt like the writer held some kind of weird grudge. Also the story doesn't even conclusively end, you just kill Thales and the narration goes "yeah anyway war keeps going to crush the Empire, who knows how that will go!"  Golden Wildfire next, hopefully Claude's take on things is a bit less stupid.

Finished GD route, ending was kind of unsatisfying but maybe because I turbomurdered Byleth instead of running away, look you put the enemies in front of me in a musou and i'm gonna kill em that's just how it works ok. Claude is pretty turbobusted once he gets to Barbarossa because the fireballs sit on the ground and tick damage and wp damage really fast so you can basically just delete anything if you hit with them.

I have reached acceptance and decided it’s actually pretty funny that now Dimtri is a centrist they had to write Edelgard as a mute baby or she would have torn him to bits. Here she is drooling into her bib under the supervision of one of her caretakers (who also happens to be one of her former abusers). Cool. Cool cool cool. lol. lmao, even.

Byleth combines the blank slate of a Western RPG character with the single path of a JRPG character and makes something that is an absolute nothing. They even wrote into the story that Byleth doesn't emote or say much to excuse it. Hideo Kojima did the same thing except it was an excuse to see video game tits rather than not giving the main character any personality.
