There are really poo poo modern guns of course (hello Colt 2000) but for the most part calibers have standardized and most of the people getting weird with ammo are either companies they know what they’re doing and make reliable guns (see: HK and 4.6x30mm) or they’re crazy wild catters that are using tried and true platforms because they’re easy to get parts made for them.
