This talk of weird competition TV makes me wonder if folks here are familiar with the UK show Taskmaster. If not, you should be, it's very good.

And don't bother trying the US version, it's poo poo, literally the worst of any of the countries that have cloned it. I would think the US simply doesn't understand the whole format of comedy panel shows, if it wasn't for the fact that US Whose Line Is It Anyway was okay. Even US TV companies recognized that US Taskmaster was poo poo, I think it didn't even finish out the first season.

Recently y'all were very kind sending well-wishes to my sick kitty Gomez, and although a valiant effort was made by all he passed away this morning. He was surrounded by loved ones and on his own favorite bed, may we all be so lucky.

This is him when he was just a kitten. He was 11 when he passed, and he is greatly missed.

Thanks everyone. He had a great life, he loved it when we moved him out to the country and he got to spend almost half his life that way, just lounging in the sun, hopelessly chasing birds and butterflies, rolling in the dirt like a dog. He was a weird cat, and I still see him in the corner of my eye with his swishy little tail with the bend on the end, the little white diamond of fur on his forehead, his dirty white paws. Chilling under the porch or on his favorite rocking chair, or any opened box or bag.

I miss him a lot, but I'm glad he doesn't hurt anymore, and that I got to know such a chill, personable and loving creature.

i fuckin *love* it but for some reason it doesn't catch on with tv audiences, and hell, they even tried airing the original brit episodes but i think that was more of a burn-off sort of thing.

Are... are you saying you liked the US one?

I had more fun watching an episode from some European country where I didn't understand the language and it wasn't subtitled than I had watching the US one.

Also, there was an amateur US one from Minnesota just done by some teenagers filming on a phone or something, and that, too, was less bad than the official US one. (The Minnesotans were reasonably funny, but the lovely sound quality and editing rendered it borderline unwatchable. But that's better than being not funny, like the official US Taskmaster.)

So sorry to hear that, man, for some reason I can tell from the photos and from your post that Gomez must have had been cared for lovingly and had an awesome life. I hope you're doing as ok as you can at this time.
