What is more important: a railroad, or the bridge that carries it over a river? Neither would exist without the other.

Truly, it would be the sound of one train fuckling

If they wiped off the bridge residue it would have been the perfect crime.

"This may have been a mistake."
The real problem with medical CT scanners is that the resolution is kind of poo poo, which made one of the jobs I worked on kind of a pain in the rear end because we didn't get good enough resolution to do a measurement of a medical implant that we wanted. For some weird reason, the doctors didn't want to massively increase the dosage to the point where it would endanger the patient's life just to satisfy the curiosity of some R&D engineers.

In all seriousness though, industrial microCT is pretty amazing stuff, and you can get some absurdly good resolution and 3d scans of parts. It's incredibly useful for quality assurance testing as well, since you can compare your manufactured part very precisely to your CAD to see how close your process is to producing the "ideal" part.

That's a video from /r/worldbuilding on reddit. The guy is finding it hilarious that actual reporters are contacting him for info when all it is was something he made up

quote:

Hi world builders! Hope you're all doing well! Happy to share with this short video that I created last week. I have always been a fan of Studio Ghibli. Castle in the Sky is one of my favorite movies by Studio Ghibli where we see massive flying ships with people living inside.

I was searching for a 3D model that features a futuristic design of an airplane, and came across this 3D model by Alexander Tujicov. It's based on an earlier design created several years ago by Tony Holmsten. I bought the 3D model and decided to animate it. I wrote the script and edited the video to showcase what it could look like in real life.

Lore: In the very distant future, humans have mastered controlled nuclear fusion. The quest for unlimited energy has finally succeeded. Nuclear reactors that can fit inside a plane are now possible. Someone once said, "Anything can fly if it just has enough energy". A group of entrepreneurs decided to create the Sky Cruise, inspired by the Titanic. Some people call it "Flytanic". It's massive and can host over 5000 guests. The video showcases the other feature of the Sky Cruise.

Oh lol, I'd seen the video pop up before but I thought it was from some design team trying to pretend it was vaguely plausible. Peyote following it up when it's even more purely fantasy is great.

Having sat in the pilots seat of the Spruce Goose at its current home, it’s surprisingly small considering the legends.

I'm guessing it's SE Asia and they don't have proper fixtures for clamping it in place and it's a trick he's been doing for 20 years after his father taught him to do it who did it for 50 years himself.

It was deliberately derailed after 18km of travel and the fire extinguished. Pretty anticlimactic.

It started burning and workers decoupled it from the rest of the track laying train, then its brakes failed and it started moving.
