pray for my aunt posted:Lmao 'Super Straights' was a short-lived dogwhistle used by a particularly bad kind of homophobe (note the initials) Transphobe, actually, since the idea behind it was "even if trans women are women being attracted to someone with a penis is gay, so super straights are people who aren't attracted to anyone who has a penis." This of course relies heavily on the bullshit theory TERFs like to use, which is "We can always tell." Fighting Trousers posted:Pretty sure the cartoon's referring to the ruling re: the high school football coach who can totes do Christian prayer on the 50 yard line and that's fine, it's his personal space, what do you mean a non-Christian public prayer doesn't deserve that kind of accommodation? Cause the left are a bunch of godless socialists, so they hate seeing a man kneel in prayer. Oh, no, I'm well aware that it was about the high school football coach (since he's white and has a cross around his neck), but saying that Dems hate people kneeling on the football field and Republicans are fine with it when Kaepernick was straight up banished from football forever for kneeling on the football field, so much so that chud companies started selling merchandise about how evil and un-American it is to kneel on a football field, pisses me off.

I don't think you realize quite how much conservatives in some non-American countries look at America and go 'yeah, we should do that'. Up here in Canada, for instance, abortion is legal and is publicly funded. No major federal political party is officially opposed to it. Most Canadians support it. But there is no explicit law establishing a right to abortion, there are access issues in several provinces, and - both just before and just after the Roe decision - several politicians have already come out with 'well actually we really need to talk about this now or the Liberals will get to decide again'. The support for abortion being legal whenever the woman wants one has gone downhill over the past few years. Prism fucked around with this message at 01:00 on Jul 5, 2022 |
