Konuwa was also the guy who had an exact percentage of how white an AEW tournament was, which ended up with something like 81% because he was counting multiracial people's whiteness toward his total.

They're also just walking right to left and the camera isn't flying around them at all different angles so it's not disorienting. It's so weird that WWE fans can't admit that any aspect of their product needs improvement. Like everything is already perfect and it's worth the effort to contort your brain in the weirdest ways to come to that conclusion. A big part of the problem is beyond the number of cuts into the syntax of the cuts. Watching Dark Elevation right now, and they use a fair amount of camera cuts, but these cuts delineate action beats. Trent locks up, does a headlock takeover, and we cut to the shot of the guy hitting the mat. Best Friends double suplex someone, we get one shot for the lift and hold and another for the landing. They're cuts to keep an eye on the action. You never find yourself looking at the cuts instead of looking at the match. Whereas cuts in WWE matches often move away from the stuff you want to see.

The big thing with WWE camera cuts isn't just the frequency but the way they cut so fast between completely different angles in a way that makes it a complete mess to keep track of what's going on, and that's compounded by the constant camera shakes and zoom ins. Someone does a move in a WWE match and the camera is frantically cutting from the hard cam to a handheld cam on the other side of the ring to random crowd shots then back to the ring and by the time they stop cutting you have no loving idea what happened.

WWE production is incredibly disorientating. It's not just the cuts but the zooming and shaky cam as well, I don't know how anyone can watch it and not feel like puking.

tbh higher frequency of cuts + shakycam action sequences are almost mandatory features of mainstream cinema nowadays, and it sucks I remember seeing The Bourne Identity in the cinema and finding it extremely hard to follow all the shakycam fight scenes back then, and idk if folks were doing it before then, but either way, I started seeing it in films a lot more after that, and it's never stopped sucking poo poo also, the frequency of cuts in cinema has become a lot shorter over the past century: the WIRED article above posted:The average shot length of English language films has declined from about 12 seconds in 1930 to about 2.5 seconds today, Cutting said. At the Academy event he showed a scatter plot with data from the British film scholar Barry Salt, who’s calculated the average shot duration in more than 15,000 movies made between 1910 and 2010. That’s a lot of shots. In a 2010 study, Cutting found an average of 1,132 shots per film in a smaller sample of 150 movies made between 1935 and 2010; the King Kong remake, incidentally, had the most: A whopping 3,099 shots packed into 187 minutes. in conclusion: Kevin Dunn sucks, but so does literally every other Hollywood editor

WWE's style to me will always be summed up by that video of the camera guy physically moving back and forth to create a zoom in/zoom out effect. That or the time the camera pretty much zoomed up into Lacey Evan's rear end in a top hat. Also lol forever at ThisIsNasty getting repeatedly owned online and then doubling down with the "okay now you're paying attention to me, like I always planned!" each and every time.
