Where's the cake?
I had the displeasure of meeting Liz Truss while deployed in Estonia, I can confirm she's a oval office and a moron, met Boris as well when he came over, weirdly soft hands when he shook mine but we weren't allowed to offer him food or a drink as he's a very messy eater. He seemed pleasant enough but we all know he's also a oval office.

0.000% of Communism has been built. Evil child-murdering billionaires still rule the world with a shit-eating grin. All he has managed to do is make himself *sad*. It has, however, made him into a very, very smart boy with something like a university degree in Truth. Instead of building Communism, he now builds a precise model of this grotesque, duplicitous world.

But Johnson didn’t act alone. For three years, he has been backed to the hilt by more than 350 co-conspirators on the Conservative benches. They nodded along to every shameful lie. They gladly went on TV to defend the indefensible and excuse the inexcusable. They willingly trooped through the voting lobby in support of every disastrous policy.

They could have prevented the chaos and paralysis that now engulfs every part of the government, if only they had thrown Johnson out of Downing Street months ago – or not backed him as their leader in the first place. They could have supported the motion of no-confidence that I tabled back in January, when it was first revealed that Johnson had broken his own lockdown laws and then lied about it to parliament and the public.

But they sat on their hands and did nothing.

Will never stop being funny that this person was in a Conservative cabinet that certainly did no better than Boris's for three years.

How many hours will it take for UK media to grasp what wasn't said? I saw it live of youtube (maybe sky news?) and they were fawning over how gracious and moving his speech was, nothing else.

Huw Jenkins realised it 10 minutes later, in the middle of the first followup interview. Was pretty funny watching his expression go *ding* and then he pivoted from questioning the mp from bury about challengers to asking what he feels about boris remaining leader and pm indefinitely

According to his wiki, Tugendhat is banned from entering China by the CCP.

Which would be an... interesting position for a world leader to be in if it comes to that

edit: its more than that, he's sanctioned so no Chinese person or institution can do business with him at all.

I wonder if the Czechs would let the Tugendhats sell their unesco world heritage villa restored for government money if he becomes PM.

As funny as it would be if was being coy about actually resigning, I'm struggling to see how that would make much strategic sense from his point of view. Surely it would just make it even harder for him to not stay on, as he'd then have to wade through all the arguments thrown at him for misleading people etc? Not that it's stopped him before, I suppose...
