I've actually been working on a phil paper that will likely never be published or even finished if I lose interest (I'm just doing this out of spite for someone who said I couldn't), about sort of what the key differences between ethics and morals are, as the two concepts obviously overlap. And it could just be sort of be nit picky linguistic stuff. But I keep coming back to the idea that ethics are bottom up, and morals are top down. From ethics you can build from the ground up from the most basic thing being happiness and not being in pain is nice, then build further frameworks from that base. And like, you can even reduce a lot of it to logic math stuff. But morals seems to come top down, it's that something is right because someone else said it's right, and I choose to believe that because I couldn't make my own ethics, I had to be told what to do. So other then the obvious "he's a brain damaged greedy charlatan" aspect, how the gently caress do you call yourself a non-ideological moralist? Even if you make your own cult and aren't just doing your interpretation of Christianity, you are still an ideologue even in that case. Angry at bad philosophy.

That said, from the theological view, Christianity, and probably most religions has always been a pick and choose your own thing through the various iterations and versions, usually to benefit the person making the new version or their own interpretation. Jorps is just blatantly dumb and lazy as gently caress all for his own gain of taking advantage of the young and or dumb Joe Rogan fan types, which really annoys me. Like make your own sect if you want and stick to your interpretation, but the constant moving the goalposts thing and making no sense by just throwing words out to try to bamboozle and wearing a professor costume just really rubs me wrong.
