I'd request that the (my) coffin was actually propped up on to the roof and then strapped down with some ratchet straps hooked to the wheel arches. An old beach towel protecting the paint from coffin scratches. Maybe have the head part of the coffin open so I can "watch" cars behind me as they take my dead rear end to the graveyard.

I didn't get any pics, sorry, but my wife and I were out last night and there must have been a meetup happening somewhere around here, because I saw 3 different '60s cars / '50s trucks that were fully rat rodded out, looking completely stock and patina'd but lowered on obviously modern drivetrains. It made me think that if cars didn't suck so bad, they may be cool.

that reminds me, i know of a guy with a '59 fridge who cut off the front frame rails and grafted it to an LTD/crown vic front frame chunk. i think it was a 70s LTD, but kind of the same thing. he was running a 400M, if memory serves handled a lot better than the leaf sprung dead axle

If I want to copy that "blu lagos" color it looks like I can order a 1 liter can for $75 from autocolor7/thunderpaint (about all I'll need), how reliable is getting the color matched with this stuff, is it like pantone where It Just Works

You could also give them a Pantone or House of Kolor chip or ID number and they could match that. Paint companies don’t always use the same name for the same color, is what I’m saying.

Matching roughly to another color is easy, matching another color side by side is very difficult , especially when metallic or pearl becomes involved since so many variables can affect the final appearance.

And I understand how side rails and a tailgate would ruin the aesthetic, but there's something triggering about a tipper/dumper bed that's really only useful for unceremoniously dumping someone who wears heels on your freshly installed hardwood flooring.
