I think it's just an artifact of the frame rate of the camera... They look to be on the rod at a point off from their centre of gravity so as the rod is pulled off the table they start to rotate and the frame rate is strobing to make them look weird.

It's a bunch of key blanks on a rod. They swing back and forth as he pulls them off the side. Since he is pulling slowly, they don't swing in sync. The first ones began to swing back while new ones leading the table swing opposite. So it looks like a unified thing moving in a strange way

That is definitely classifiable as armor.
