This is enlightening, thank you. I really should know more about the physics of acoustics, alas math was not my strong suit and recording school didn't exactly emphasize its importance beyond "here's how the dB scale works in dBFS, dB/SPL, here's what unity gain is and why you're gonna gently caress things up if you ignore it." I'd love to learn more about the relationship between the acoustic and the mechanical, in hopes that it'll make me better-equipped to do 'my job' (lmao nobody is hiring me). Anyway thanks.
