we monitor many frequencies. we listen always. came a voice, out of the babel of tongues, speaking to us. it played us a mighty dub.

"must be your upper lip" would also have worked

I picked it up from my nana. Another favorite of hers was "you are courting a scab on the end of your nose!"

Pretty sure she was a lesbian too

actually, i think i got it from the movie "next friday", but john witherspoon's character was supposed to be old, so it tracks.

my on the DL nana just loved going on trips with her friends to fool around overseas where it doesn't count (probably almost certainly)

some cool graphic novel poo poo that's not superheroes:

Godshaper by Si Spurrier
Coda by Si Spurrier
Abbot and Abbot 1973 by Saladin Ahmed
Richard Stark's Parker: The Hunter, Parker: The Outfit, Parker: The Score, and Parker: Slayground, adapted by Darwyn Cooke
Letter 44 by Charles Soule
I Kill Giants by Joe Kelly
Locke & Key by Joe Hill
Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughn
Die by Kieron Gillen
The Wicked + The Divine by Kieron Gillen
6 Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton by Kyle Starks
Assassin Nation by Kyle Starks
Sex Criminals by Matt Fraction

Sandman's a good rec, but hard to say how it hits with grown-rear end adults
