Enough of this nonsense. You are an important mayor and this absurd contraption has wasted enough of your time.

It's not nothing though? I have made quite a lot of money off of gardening and the people that I know who went to the trouble of scamming a fc house onto a single character are raking it in. Though I think you can't really do the latter thing anymore.

I mean they are nothing in the sense that the gameplay around them is tedious and awful and blows and is why everyone should be skeptical as gently caress about island sanctuary, but they aren't nothing in terms of, "look at all this money I am printing."

The previews of the island sanctuary make it sound like a solo version of a Eureka map with Harvest Moon mechanics. They also explicitly pointed out that the gardening done there is not at all like estate gardening.

Huh, you know, something that just came up right now to me: since 6.2 Savage will be delayed by a week, will they delay tomestones a week like then do on X.0 patches?

I'll admit I wish they do in case the patch releases before I'm back at my PC so I don't have to do a wild midnight run to cap tomestones...

I don't even want to see what happens if you gain CHIM outside of a pre-coded system.

There was at one point going to be a rancher gathering class- or multiple specilized forms thereof- back in 1.0 plans, but it never panned out.

Sure, if you want to put the effort into it you can make some cash but it's always framed like some fun feature being gatekept.

I haven't ever had to really go ham on healing when the party is competent, and that's all the way back to having Cleric Stance on White Mage while not having more instant heals than Benediction. The challenge was more just about making sure to be out of it at regular enough intervals that the tank didn't collapse while your heals were as strong as a Summoner's.

is it really triage healing if it’s just that the fight is such a joke that you can heal extremely sloppy pulls to a clear

Yeah, because the tanks take more sustained damage from the boss than anything since E8S and people take random, non-lethal damage from mechanics all the time. Shiva Unreal was the same. There's no spot healing on anything else in modern encounters.

This is also lovely. If housing is going to keep being this hard to get, they need to increase the item limit of apartments and FC houes to at least 200. Maybe even 300.

The one thing that gets me about housing is that the cost from the player to maintain their estate is close to nil. To me that is absurd when demand is so high from both the playerbase and from just a straight dev support angle.

that would be interesting if there was a monthly upkeep cost. hit the people with 20 vacant houses a bit.

tanking both these fights, i do not really feel like it played out like that. ARR tended to have smaller more regular mini busters instead of larger spikes of them i cant truly call that triage
shiva was also an incredibly loose fight you can get sloppy clears through fwiw

The last live letter went to great lengths to make this clear. Unique inventory, area, turnins, currency, mechanics. They stopped short of flat out saying THIS IS NOT HOUSING. But only just.

That won't stop people from hoping it has outdoors housing stuff, or complaining once it comes out.

(TBF giving a non-housing option for gardening and outdoors housing is a good idea. Gardening could be done with apartments though, just have a pot at the lobby or smth.)

I'm not sure how that would work since IIRC the lobby isn't instanced. It's not like the chocobo stables where it's a binary thing - you have to be able to tend to a given garden plot for several days before any cross-breeding happens.

The actual easiest fix would just be to make an indoor planter that can cross-breed.

You're not missing out on Submarines and poo poo because you can't get a personal house. They're FC only.

And since Submarines are FC only, literally only 1% of players are ever going to have access to that in the first place - unless FCs open that up to others. Hell, talk to someone in the Goon FCs, I'm sure they'd let you gently caress around with it.

And honestly, the same goes for gardening. Talk to your FC, see if you can use the gardening beds.

There are still FC plots open. Go start your own FC and get yourself a house. Then you have your garden plot and your submarines.

GloomMouse
Mar 6, 2007

Obviously the solution is to give players a submarine with a garden plot inside that you can decorate like a house. You'll get it in the Subnautica crossover event

Must be nice, I've run into multiple glam piece I want that require sub items.

I mean I'm an officer in my FC and can just yoink control of our subs for a while to get the stuff I want, and we have a mechanism in our FC discord where people can put in orders for sub/airship mats, but yeah. :v:
