A dangerous new character is introduced today. Think of her as Chibi Vampirella’s Chibi Vampirella. Boxes within boxes. I can’t say that she will appear again but neither can I say that she won’t.

"Chibi Vampirella" was how the Lottie was described when she and Mildred were banned from entering the circus in 2021's Circus Windows

I think for me it was also because it was once a week but a continuous story, I assumed it would move super-slow because there's no way you can progress a story in a few panels a week.
As it turns out, obviously, Foster could, and he could do it well.
So, I thought Prince Valiant was slow, boring, overly wordy, and stupid, and I was wrong about all those things but I didn't know because I never really gave it a chance. I would just skip it on Sundays and move on to Croc or Frank and Ernest or whatever the gently caress bullshit comic was next on the page.
Oh well I probably appreciate it now more than I would have then anyways

I'm not sure I remember this correctly, but in my city they took only a third of a comic, shrunk it down, and printed it without context for three weeks running.
Could be wrong, since I don't know for sure what format newspaper Valiant was in in the 90s.

I love to hate on this strip, but mightn't one workshop this a bit and draw two groomsmen in bowlers?
Elevate the joke slightly from it's current one-dimensional level?

"Couldn't this have been better with a little more effort?" should be the Comics Kingdom description of the strip.
