It's even dumber - the Secretary of Defense authorized the drug trial without the SEALs' knowledge, justifying it as a means to solve the PTSD/suicide crisis in the armed forces, because a blind study is more effective, and they all would have said yes anyway.

not to be "that guy" for mentioning this but I haven't had cable in 12 years, so I missed all Comedy Central shows since then. actually, probably even before that, since South Park stopped being funny in 2005 by my estimate and CC in the 00's was unbearably bad generally speaking

Few shows are such strong case studies of people, and while the Nathan in the show is a fictional portrayal, the inclusion of real people in his broken-brained antics makes the show feel all the more real, special and rare.
